We have removed the remap from the list of available holiday gifts, at least temporarily, while we look into some improvements we feel need to be made, and if we will be able to make them in time.

Why are we doing it?

Because we are not happy with the way it functions, essentially because it doesn't function as people sometimes think it does, and is therefore likely to mislead a good amount of those who choose it as their gift. We want you to be happy with your gift and not be mad during Christmas.

What does this mean for you guys?

1.Those who picked it already?
Nothing yet. We are just looking at our options of improving the gift before it is distributed on the 22nd. Until then, we don't want to enlarge the group of people who have chosen this gift.

2. Those who want it but haven't chosen it yet.
You won't be able to choose it unless we enable it again, but you have until the end of the 21st to choose your gift and we will keep you informed on the progress of our work well before that time. Please note that if you choose something else before we come to a conclusion on our end, your choice will be final.

3. Everyone else.
This won't affect you at all. Enjoy your gift.

Please accept our apologies for not making this decision BEFORE we put the list out there as we obviously should have. As promised, we will keep you informed on the progress and of course we are listening to your feedback.

Yes, they Remaps are pulled off of list as off this afternoon. There was a pretty big issue in how they were being granted, we're going to take them out of the line-up until we can assure 100% GOOD deployment. CCPGuard will be on with some more detailed in the near future.

The remap option was the only literally priceless choice (being the only one you could not trade for ISK).
You probably lacked to notice that I recommended people that want to sell their gifts to get the FUEL BLOCKS.
Oh, look, the fuel block option is still there.

And actually, I have 3 remaps, like everybody else who has not remapped at all since before the learning skills were removed.
I wanted to have 4 remaps and I wanted to make sure the remap choice would not be bugged as hell (by, oh, say, not adding a free remap at all, or maybe resetting the total to just 2, or worse).
The more likely reason it got taken away is that it would have not worked as hoped.

It's possible that people that were mid-way between getting a remap (having remapped in the last year) would get a "variable value" for this particular gift, some getting merely a few extra days, others almost a full year. Or maybe the free remap was actually 2 remaps for those with no remaps, and +1 for a total of still 2 displayed free remaps for those that can already remap. So maybe the coders for that gift were lazy enough to say "oh, just set free remaps to 2 with the gift". Who knows ?
