Reports have reached Gutter Press, of "bhaalgorns" being spotted in the Khanid Kingdom, by a number of worried citizens.
The majority of the reports come from Afnakat VI, where a number of citizens claim to have seen the "bhaalgorns" committing numerous crimes, such as livestock abduction, property damage, and fire-raising.
The "bhaalgorn" was reported by one witness, a commoner farmer, as being around twice the height of a man, with the horns and feet of a goat.
Gutter Press agents spoke to the farmer, who had this to say: "I was watching the slaver hound trials, when I heard a noise from outside. I look out me window, and there's this beast, battering at the door to the barn. I said to my wife, so I did, I said, 'get the laser gun, there's some critter out there', then when she handed me my gun, I go out, and fire a few rounds at it, then it ran off. Twice the size of a normal man, I reckon, but with horns and stuff. Gave me the willies, it did."
A number of other residents of Afnakat VI also reported seeing a shadowy figure in the night, though few claimed to have had a close look at it.
Kingdom authorities are sceptical. We asked a local police sergeant for her opinion: "I doubt it to be a bhaalgorn. It is far more probable that this is some kind of cybernetic device, constructed by the heretic Covenant, the immoral Gallente, or the heathen Minmatar, than a literal demon. Unless tissue samples, or a corpse, are presented, that's my opinion."
A number of cryptozoologists from across the Kingdom have declared their intentions to photograph or capture the beasts.
Meanwhile, local gunsmiths have reported an increase in sales of hunting lasers.
Gutter Press. News.
Just the facts.

It is obvious who is to blame for the appearance of demons in the Khanid Kingdom. The fault lies with PIE, SFRIM, and the other False Amarrians who destroyed the Demon Summoning Temple over three months ago. The destruction of that Temple caused the demons that had been summoned by the expert demonologists living there to become unbound, rampaging throughout the terrestrial plane at ever greater remove from the purpose for which they were originally summoned. Now, these unbound demons have reached the Khanid Kingdom.
In response to this reporting by Shirley Serious, I have constructed a Demon Binding Temple in an attempt to bring these demons back under control. This Temple has been placed among the moons of Afnakat VI, as close as possible to the location of the demon outbreak. Because demon binding rituals demand the sacrifice of slaves, 27,500 filthy Minmatar subhumans have been supplied to the Demon Binding Temple. Let all of Greater Amarria be warned: do not interfere with the re-binding of these demons, lest we suffer additional demon outbreaks in the future. Amen. Amarr Victor.
P. S. Shirley Serious, will you please go on another date with me. I pine away for you every day. |

If someone tells you that whenever a Sebiestor craps something out of his brain a demon will pop up in front of the Sarum Palace gates on Mekhios to **** on it, you will probably believe him.
Good luck with your imaginary demons, btw.

It is. The degree of fear is irrelevant. If there is fear, there is fear. If not, then not. If you don't fear an open exchange of ideas, then you don't fear it. If you worry about it, if you're 'anxious' about what might be said, then yes, you fear it. Just because the idea doesn't leave you huddled in a corner weeping doesn't mean you're not afraid.
We're complex creatures, with complex emotional states. Existence or non-existence, however, is binary. Either something is, or it isn't. There's no 'well, this is only half-real'. Half-real or 'this is sorta that' means it's not that. Either it is, or it isn't. |

Human beings are not binary, or even trinary, computing devices. And yes, our existence is also relativistic. There are many things "half-real" (take psychosomatics as the most evident example). After our death, we continue to exist. No thing in this world is exactly like another. Reality is infinitely more complex than any mortal mind can even hope to comprehend.
Our Creator gifted us with infinite degrees of freedom. Our emotions are not binary switches in a wetware OS. There is no black and white, there is always a gradient between the two.
Fear is also an emotional gradient. Leave the "mind-killer" propaganda in the briefing room. |

A)Please provide proof that humans continue to exist after death - note that the fact that data can be duplicated to produce serial copies of capsuleer brainstates is proof only that you can be duplicated.
B)Psychosomatic conditions exist in the mind. This does not make them half-real. This makes them mental constructs. It does not impact whether or not they exist. Physicality is not existence - especially when discussing mental or emotional states.

Consider a color palette as a gradient wheel. For the sake of common reference, I'll stipulate actual pigments, not emitted light. (Pigment being additive, light emission being subtractive.) When you are looking at 'purple', you are looking at red and blue in mixture. Both the red and the blue exist, and the proportion in which they exist determines the actual shade you perceive. But at no point do either of them only partially exist.

However, you cannot ignore degrees. Dealing with someone who is 'worried' is very different than dealing with someone who is 'paralyzed with fear'. The guy who is simply worried still has presence of mind to wreck your shite or to withdraw when he identifies that the odds are stacked against him, while the one who is paralyzed with fear can't do squat. Dealing with the worried fellow requires you to set up traps and do a bit of deception and misdirection to make him relax his guard, upon which you can then spring the trap and then kill him. Dealing with the guy who is paralyzed with fear is much simpler.
Ignoring the degrees can very well cost you a ship or perhaps a fleet.

If mental constructs do truly exist according to you, then our impressions and memories of other people are also mental constructs that exist, even after the source of those memories is gone. Therefore, dead people keep existing as long as we remember them.
One could argue that the mental constructs that are our memories of people, after being created, exist independently of the source. But it's how we perceive the world as human beings. Everything that our brain registers becomes a mental construct, because we work that way. And so, through our life we walk through a world of our own, that includes shadows of other people that we create in our mind, and after the real people die, their shadows within our personal world still go on.
(Note that I'm intentionally leaving any and all things related to religion out of this.)

In every normal human, some degree of fear or worry about something is always present. Being brave is not about having no fear, it's about overcoming one's fear.
If someone has this basic instinct turned off complely, he must be competely insane, cybernetically or genetically altered to the point that he's no longer a human (such as Sansha or Jove), or a demented "infomorph". |

Err... Not to nitpick or anything, but light (primary RGB) is actually additive and pigment (primary CMY) is subtractive, since it absorbs light to various degrees and so reflects the exact opposite operation. |

Actually, no - to make green with pigment, you add yellow to blue. To make green with light, you remove competing wavelengths. |

Yellow and blue together giving green is a subtractive process.
You should really check it out on Galnet, it is not like it is hard information to find. Pigment mixing is subtractive, light mixing is additive.

The Gutter Press publishes articles that it should know feeds one man's delusions.
IRRESPONSIBLE!
The lives of 27,500 slaves are in danger due to one man's delusional reliance on tabloids.

(Note that I'm intentionally leaving any and all things related to religion out of this.)
And those shadows are not the same as those people. Memories, pictures, impressions - these are not humans any more than the hoofprint of a cow in the sand is the cow.

If someone has this basic instinct turned off completely, he must be totally insane, cybernetically or genetically altered to the point that he's no longer a human (such as Sansha or Jove), or a demented "infomorph".
Do you worry, or fear, taking a drink? Do you fear breathing?
The fact that we have the capacity to experience fear does not mean we are always experiencing fear about all matters. Being brave was never an issue raised - only whether or not fear on a specific matter exists. |

Thankfully that is a small mercy for those 27,500 slaves we are about to rescue from this 'Binding Temple'.
Ultimately it is the efforts of the combined fleets from numerous alliances and corporations who oppose you Nauplius that have done the righteous work of bringing down those abominable butcher's shops you call 'Temples'.

The loss of those 3700 who died in the breaching phase or were sacrificed horrifically by Nauplius' men is yet another tragedy in what is slowly becoming a legacy of horrors perpetuated by one sick and twisted individual.
Additionally 5 so called "Demonologists' were taken into custody and I hope are to be transported into the hands of Imperial Authorities to await trail.
You might want to look through the participant lists again. There might be a prophet somewhere in there. The survival rate you quoted was nothing short of miraculous.

Actually, sound being a vibration, and vacuum not being 100% empty, it does travel through space.
You are both right and wrong.
The properties of a sound wave are affected by, amongst other things, the density of the medium through which it travels. As such, a sound wave travelling through an interstellar or interplanetary medium would have a wavelength not audible to human ears.

Or there was plenty of time to get to survival equipment, which Nauplius had neglected to remove or sabotage. Or we just got really lucky. Whichever way, I'm sorry I wasn't able to be present for the second phase, but I was proud to have taken part in the first.
This would have been worth doing even if everyone aboard had died. It's good that things came out as they did, though. |

I happened to be in the area on entirely unrelated purposes, and conducted observations of the planet to look for these "bhaalgorns", and I also happened to observe the destruction of the "demon binding temple".
I didn't see any bhaalgorns. Not from 18km up in my Omen anyway. SO, their existence is... unverified.
Also, when the Demon Binding Temple was destroyed, I did not actually witness the armies of the Deceiver marching out of a giant rip in the fabric of space-time.
I did see Lucas Raholan forget to retrieve his drones before warping off though.
So, I'd suggest that, unless it happened when I wasn't looking, there is not much evidence of there having been a divine invasion of the Afnakat system.
Of course, being a Scientist, why, I am the greatest Sani Sabik archeotheologist of the modern age, should additional evidence be found, I would of course be willing to revise my opinion.
Such is the way of Science and Faith.
