Originally by: Achilles Thorongmor Well they need to mirror it NOW if they want people to play for any amount of time. Most people don't want to play on Sisi if they're skills are out of date by more than a few days.
They cant, it requires an extended downtime for a couple of hours from what ive seen them say before. If you are on SiSi often, you notice when a mirror has been made, so then you just keep your char training both on SiSi and TQ. Its not a big problem really.
Originally by: Elena Lanfear Can somebody explain me how to log in? I get always incompatible build when i try to log in SiSi. I would like to help with the stress test but atm it seems the server doesnt like me. ;-)
Yeah, i have the newest version and i play regulary on TQ, so my client should be uptodate ;-).
Thx in advance!
Its not working yet, be patient. :)

Won't be there. I'm on Burn Eden's TS server and about to go to bed. Forgot to change my skill too and it was completed ten minutes before downtime. ___________________

Tranquility will undergo an extended downtime for database maintenance on Tuesday, 16 January. The extended downtime will occur from 1100 through 1500 GMT.
While the extended downtime is underway, we are asking for the community's assistance. As part of the ongoing effort to improve EVE's performance, we will be holding a stress test on Singularity and would like for as many members of the EVE community as possible to log into the test server. Once logged in, just play EVE as normal.
The test server will be running on the same version as Tranquility, so it will not be necessary to install a second client. We hope the server load during the stress test will help us troubleshoot some of the recent node issues.
It will not be necessary to set a long skill training for the extended downtime, but please ensure your skill training does not complete during the downtime.

Despite the message there is a test server patch. So if you'd like to join in the fun
- Go to the directory: C:\Program Files\CCP
- Right click upon your installation of Eve and select copy
- Paste the copy into the C:\Program Files\CCP directory.
- Rename "Copy of Eve" to "Test"
- Go into the Test directory and double click upon the eve.exe to start it up, look in the bottom left of the window and check what version you have.
- Visit Test server patches
- Download the appropriate version to patch your test client up to the latest test build
- Run the test patch
- Click upon "Start update"
- Read the warning and click upon "ok"
- Click upon browse and locate your test server directory e.g. "C:\Program Files\CCP\Test"
- Click upon "Ok" to close the directory browse window.
- Click upon "Ok" on the main patcher window to patch the test client
- Click upon "Launch Eve online" to launch your test client, or just browse to the test directory and click on the eve.exe file.
- Enter your username and password
- From the server drop down box select "Test Server(Singularity)
- Connect as soon as its up and have fun
Id recommend a quick read through the Test server rules. After following all dev/gm/bughunter/isd etc instructions the main ones are that there is NO PODDING and consentualy pvp only apart from free fire zones marked by beacons.
Have fun :)

Im not patching anything until I know that the info we have in the news is incorrect. They have said "same version as TQ" for the test.

Just make a copy of your install and patch that.
<.< >.> Despite what might be said, Id recommend never using your main install to connect to the test server, just make a copy of the live client and use that. There are no registry entries etc to copy, it all runs from whatever directory eve is installed in.

Easy enough. However I'm not sure testing the bad user name or password dialog box was the goal today :) Hopefully will be updated soon. -AS |

If your username has mixed case, try entering it all in lower case.

Yep, it's all lower case. No joy.
One would have to assume, since they made a public announcement for a stress test, and stated that the TQ client will work on SiSi, one would also be good in assuming that everyone's accounts would be enabled as well. As such, they they are not yet ready for the stress test and I'll pretend to be patient. :)

Its using the 28892 version. News also says we are supposed to play as normal, so there is no organized test it seems. Well, come kill me in FFA then... and take out lofty as well. :)

As of right now;
256 people logged in on Sisi (players or GMs/Devs) They said no patching required of Tranq client (requires patch to connect) Bad Username or Password notice (I've tried uppercase, lowercase, and a sick mix of the two)
So either, Sisi isn't ready for us to test it, They didn't announce clearly/yet what we need to do to connect, or one of the Sisi gerbals had a coronary and Tux is performing CPR as you read this :P
