Just a friendly reminder... stress test on SiSi today at 11.00 - 15.00 (eve time, its during the downtime). If you whine about performance in Eve, at least make an effort to contribute to the solution. Mkey?
Besides, you might get to shoot me. I realize it may not be a challenge, but at least you can say you killed that annoying guy that posts alot in the forums...
CU there. :)

Greetings!
When I went to log on to the test server it showed "incompatable version-new build available" even though the notes claim the build is the same as Tranquility. Methinks a few won't log on as a result-myself I am too paranoid to risk having to re-install eve to accept the patch for Singularity and am too lazy to make a new folder/new instalation to test it out in.

Yup same here, actually SISI has been giving me this message for a few days now. I have visions of lots of non techie people installing test patches in there main game folder !
Luckily the patch it wants to download and install does not actually exist, so even if you say "yes" to the message it errors out.
Hopefully someone from CCP / GM's / mods will see this thread soon and escalate to the people that need to know.

I tried to install the patch that would allow me to connect to SISI even though the news says the TQ and SISI versions should be the same.
And guess what, Its a 404. Probally for the best, I can imagine a lot of people trying to patch thier main EVE Client what with the extended DT.

You should be able to just log on if its using the same version as Tranquility does. You shouldnt have to install a patch or anything like that. We'll see... this thread will serve as a guide to how to get on there. :)
I really hope we dont have to patch, since I know tons of people will then install the patch in their main game directory...

Well, the test server uses a complete mirror of TQ. So depending on when the mirroring was done, your char may or may not exist on the test server.
I think their latest mirror is more recent than 3 months ago though, so you should be OK. --- Eve Wiki | Eve Tribune |

They cant, it requires an extended downtime for a couple of hours from what ive seen them say before. If you are on SiSi often, you notice when a mirror has been made, so then you just keep your char training both on SiSi and TQ. Its not a big problem really.

Despite the message there is a test server patch. So if you'd like to join in the fun
- Go to the directory: C:\Program Files\CCP
- Right click upon your installation of Eve and select copy
- Paste the copy into the C:\Program Files\CCP directory.
- Rename "Copy of Eve" to "Test"
- Go into the Test directory and double click upon the eve.exe to start it up, look in the bottom left of the window and check what version you have.
- Visit Test server patches
- Download the appropriate version to patch your test client up to the latest test build
- Run the test patch
- Click upon "Start update"
- Read the warning and click upon "ok"
- Click upon browse and locate your test server directory e.g. "C:\Program Files\CCP\Test"
- Click upon "Ok" to close the directory browse window.
- Click upon "Ok" on the main patcher window to patch the test client
- Click upon "Launch Eve online" to launch your test client, or just browse to the test directory and click on the eve.exe file.
- Enter your username and password
- From the server drop down box select "Test Server(Singularity)
- Connect as soon as its up and have fun
Id recommend a quick read through the Test server rules. After following all dev/gm/bughunter/isd etc instructions the main ones are that there is NO PODDING and consentualy pvp only apart from free fire zones marked by beacons.
Have fun :)

Just make a copy of your install and patch that.
<.< >.> Despite what might be said, Id recommend never using your main install to connect to the test server, just make a copy of the live client and use that. There are no registry entries etc to copy, it all runs from whatever directory eve is installed in.

Yep, it's all lower case. No joy.
One would have to assume, since they made a public announcement for a stress test, and stated that the TQ client will work on SiSi, one would also be good in assuming that everyone's accounts would be enabled as well. As such, they they are not yet ready for the stress test and I'll pretend to be patient. :)

Its using the 28892 version. News also says we are supposed to play as normal, so there is no organized test it seems. Well, come kill me in FFA then... and take out lofty as well. :)

As of right now;
256 people logged in on Sisi (players or GMs/Devs) They said no patching required of Tranq client (requires patch to connect) Bad Username or Password notice (I've tried uppercase, lowercase, and a sick mix of the two)
So either, Sisi isn't ready for us to test it, They didn't announce clearly/yet what we need to do to connect, or one of the Sisi gerbals had a coronary and Tux is performing CPR as you read this :P

There were two different patches for converting the live server to test, remember during the holidays they had an optional patch to fix some issues with some users. So you need either this http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/evepatch28296-28892_test.exe
or this http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/test/evepatch28505-28892_test.exe
depending on if you patched or not over the holidays with the optional patch. SO if you dare make a copy of eve and decide to try test out one of the above should work for you. Also seems they have an older mirror from november so if you account is newr then that or your password changed from then and you cant remember it you may not be able to get in.

"connect with your tranquility client" - yeah sure, works like a charm.
After installing a testserver client and patching i finally could connect.

Stress Test ftw. nearly 250 ppl were on, when the uber test client crashed ever 5 minutes. Stress Test passed, negative.

It is always the same and that is boring at all. The same fleet and lag problems for years, petitions outstanding for weeks and no answer, mail/ and overviewbugs and so on.
CCP has to do some homework for the amount of money spent from some users.

Whoever is responsible for this mess that this test turned out to be... thanks for wasting my time. I could have organized this test better myself. :(
1) /me tries to rally people to the test 2) /me reads news, says "same version as TQ" 3) /me tells people to not patch since the news should be correct. Its not. 4) People tries hard to find the correct patch. The client offers people do download the wrong version. Doesnt matter though, since the download wont start anyway. 5) People find out that the latest version is 28892. 6) People get on the test server, noticing there is no planned event. To be fair, the news did say "play as normal". You cant play as normal on a test server, ccp...you need something to do. Who starts mining/trading on the test server? 7) Notices the 150 people in local and about 400 people on the server after 2 hours of testing. Stress test? Not likely without stress. 8) Waiting for some kind of post from ccp. Nothing. 9) Gives up.
Im disappointed. This sucked. Sorry to all the people who tried to take part in making this test valuable, I wasted your time with this thread.
