This Is Eve (right click, save as) 112mb
This is a real mix actually. Most of the video is the best of the footage I took during the last Alliance Tournament (winter 2006), half way through making it the movie turned more into an advert for Eve hence the other half.
In any case its some good music (Shaolin Temple of Boom, before anyone asks) together with some of the coolest shots of Eve you just don't get a chance to see in your average day.
The only downside was that towards the end of the the editing I could no longer load the Premiere Pro save file, the only reason I was able to finish the movie was because I had exported a copy of the movie to give it a test view. With that I was able carry on but it stopped me from making some fine tuning which I would have liked to do. But I am happy with it nonetheless.

Originally by: Dash Ripcock Nicely put together Loxy, although I must admit, I was marginally underwhelmed.
Balance-wise, it just didn't fit. Perhaps a slower beginning perhaps to build up the tension along with the 'This Is...' spread out across the whole film rather than the final minute would have made it feel more 'complete'. Instead there is revolving shot upon revolving shot of ships swooping past one another, explosions, wrecks, nosferatus and so on. There seems to be little narrative drive driving it forwards (for example, like there is in EVE Never Fades) and as a result it seems to sag in the middle. Focusing more on the other areas of EVE, as well as some more experimental shots and framing would have made the material stronger I feel.
That said, it's a very accomplished piece of work. The editing and sync are up there with the best on offer, and the choice of music was well suited. Perhaps next time spend less time on the pew pew, so when it does come about, it's all the more impacting for it. Please take this as constructive criticism from a fellow EVE film-maker.
Cheers for the comments Dash I appreciate it :). The movie was actually very easy to make because I had actually made it before in a way. As I mentioned in my first post the footage is all from the last tournament, the clips are the best from the movies I made for EveTv all packed into one uber final movie. So really from the start it was going to be clip after clip rather then based on a script or story. Perhaps more could have been done to convert it into the advert it became in the end but due to me loosing the ability to edit most of it anymore (see the first post again) I really didnt go into that.
Originally by: "Kua Temporary" I think this is truly awe-inspiring, and yet there is a lot of room for improvement, which is very exciting. I'm a little afraid to offer suggestions Rolling Eyes, would you be willing to make changes? If this is a final version and you want to be done with it I'd certainly understand.
EDIT: Rereading your opening post, perhaps editing is now impossible or very hard. If that's the case, oh well brilliant job. Keep em coming :).
Oh and now I've sucked up please answer my questions in the hints and tips sticky. Laughing
Thanks for the comments as well :). It is a final version, I wouldn't go back to improve it unless it was going to be used for something. However in this case its not really possible anyway since the original file is no longer working, I would have to rebuild it from near the start :S.

ive seen the video and....fantastic....but: HOW did u do the camera drives? all time i take the mouse and drive over the screen, its not soooo smooth like yours. whats the trick?
and im right, that u use a fast ship like a ceptor to do this "fly by" scenes?
if i scroll in / out, its not smooth, it scolls in "20km ranges", if i use the mouse to look around, its jerking horrible, but not smooth...
wth is the trick to do sooo smooth camera drives??
kart
Smooth hand fixes most of the problems :). With zooming hold the left and right buttons and move the mouse forward and back to get a smooth action zoom. To get the smooth orbit type view press ESC to bring up options, go to the graphics tab and in the middle section tick "Advanced camera menu" this will let you set a object in space as "Parent" or "interest" letting you get some cool views you wouldn't normally be able to get.
