Being the CA diplomat has to be one of the most "special" and interesting jobs in Eve due in no small part to the posting kung fu of my alliance mates. As a newer pilot to the game, I am free of the memory of the history of Curse Alliance. I have heard the whispered tales that all mothers use to frighten their children with however. So much respect for what was and everyone who made it that way. What matters now, and what is stirring the forum beast is what is Curse Alliance now.
The truth is hard to define. Curse right now is a bunch of corps getting to know one another. It is allot of old pilots feeling out one another. There are numerous skilled and experienced pilots here who will change how we fight. Adaptation and versatility are the new values to have in the world of Eve. The things I can say without reservation are we will stick with our friends through good and bad. IAC asked for help, we did what we could. Curse will do the same. Personally speaking, I know I don't have the combat record of 90% of the old school pirates in the game. And I lose allot of ships. But what matters is flying those ships and bringing the fight when required. Curse will have that in spades. Xirtam is the same. Yes, he is called primary in 99% of our fights. Yes he is hilarious when he starts going down on TS. And finally yes, he comes right back in a better ship to get some back. Curse Alliance will be characterized by that leadership from the front. And by Xirtam's loyalty to his friends. No matter what other faults may exist, the man is charismatic and can motivate pilots and make them want to fly with him.
As for what Curse Alliance will become. Well that remains to be seen. Just like every other entity in the game we all have a goal and an agenda. Currently we are developing internaly so we can be prepared to meet our upcoming challenges. We are well aware that taking the name of Curse would be a harder road than remaining Imperium. It should also prove to be allot more fun with allot more combat. No matter how it all ends up a year or so from now, win lose or draw, the game is best played by having fun and taking up the challenges and seeking growth. Xirtam is the only one who has had the desire and the guts to take back the name of Curse and say I will take on the challenge of rebuilding it. I look forward to seeing all of you in space.
