Just because you brought a non-applicable real-life example into this:
- you don't need a visa for all countries if you just pass through and/or stay for a couple of days
- some countries offer you the possibility to purchase a visa at the border
- I don't have to call my government to make a treaty or some such with another country just because I want to pass by or visit.
- another country for which I require a visa and I can't obtain it at the border will ship me back to my country, not kill me

Jesus H Christ dude. Are there 500 countries(corps) and Nations(Alliances) at war with eachother? What do I do if I want to go to Africa and pluck diamonds from their mountains?

you'll find canadians hew far more closely to the british line of thinking than that of our american neighbours by and large. you would for instance find many firearms in canada but we do tend to spend time in the great outdoors where many tasty things live and some things that find us tasty.
canadians do not traditionally shoot each other. we prefer knives as they are so much more personal.
