I usually do ok soloing lvl 3's and have minimal trouble with lvl 4's. I cant seem to get past this lvl 3 mission it never ends and the NPC spawn for hours on end.
today i took the mission and i had 5 vespa II's against 1 dire pithum mortifier and me in my raven with 3 jugs torps, 1 bane torp, 1 cruise paradise, and 1 heavy scourge + nos vs a dire pithum mortifier at 23km and the vespa II's killed their dire pithum mortifier before i had mine into 50% sheilds even though i attacked them both at the same time.
the next spawn came it at 180km and i was being hit with heavies from that range even when nothing else was around me.
Is this mission busted does anyone know? ALL MMO'S screw you at the drive thru...

Your post is extremely confusing. You talk about lots of spawns but give no indication of why you think it's broken? You did not give any info on about how many npc's you fought before giving up.
I just did it like two days ago though so I'm fairly certain it's not broken.

I always cancel/abort this mission. I had some trouble with it in my Drake.

This was my first mission after Revelations went live. I took my shiny new harbinger out to see how it fared in lv 3 missions and almost lost it right off. The whole mess of rats immediately aggrod me and started pounding away. I managed to warp out without much structure damage and jumped in my tanked apocalypse that I save for those tough missions and went back to the spawn and started killing. After something like 3 hours of nonstop killing I finally got a message that I had killed the the mission ended. I dont think its broken, just not fun lol.

I guess my real quiestion is is it natural for 5 vespa II's doing kinetic damage to smoke by a butload the damage of a raven using mostly kinetic damage adn for NPC's to hit you at 189km with heavy missles.
not really concerned about the mission never ending as that might make it more like a cash register. ALL MMO'S screw you at the drive thru...

I do it with my drake in about 30 mins usually, without any problem at all. The mission is bugged a bit, the waves are sepose to spawn after you only have 2 ships left from the previous wave. However I've had waves spawn 10 secs after I warped in sometimes and once ended up with over 30 ships (3 waves)on me at the same time. Needles to say it was hard tanking them, but I menaged to do it alone in a drake. So I really am not sure why you guys are having hard times in battleships.

I have done many of those, never had a problem...
It spawns like 6-7 grouups of rats?
It doesn't end until you kill the leader...

First, lose the torp launchers - there are no bs in lv3, cruise is fine for cruisers - leave the frigs to the drones. No point using heavy launchers on raven - no bonus for it, if u want to use heavy missiles - use tanked out drake. .. or caracal if you are more adventurous.

Good advice, I think I'll dump my half torp half heavy missile setup for a pure Cruise Missile Launcher setup on my Raven.

If this mission is anything like the lvl4 version then each wave has a trigger ship, if you destroy the trigger ship the next waves warps in.
The trigger ships are usually on their own in the wave (ie only one of)
On a side note, pith's usually cause me a lot of lag

It's a cakewalk in a drake. BC2, less than 100k SP in missiles, BTW. Once you realise how the spawns react it's just an exercise in mass bounty collection.
Hint: Don't keep wraping back to the same spot every time.

After the inital bunch and the statis tower there are four additional waves. I love this mission it's a real money-salvage maker :) ---------

Soloed it in a Harbinger (and I had no more than 3.5 mil SP (1.9 in Learning skills).
It's not that hard really. Kill the unique enemy last and don't let the groups attack you simultaneously (usually that means head at full speed for the closest spawn and destroy it while kiting a bit to maintain distance to the other groups).

I have no problem with this mission in my Drake. Yeah it's one of the tougher LvL 3s but far from impossible, it can take a while if your DPS is low. Personally i like it, the bounty is good so ya can make nearly 9-10Mil off itjust on bounty and reward.

That's correct.
I've run this mission three times, the first time I ended up having to make a panic-stricken call on local for some help, second time I just about soloed most it with some well-needed help for the last wave (again, nice folks from local - yes, they do exist!). Once I found out what the trigger was, I could solo it without too many problems (Drake).
There's always a ship-class on it's own, don't touch that until you've nailed the rest. If there isn't a unique ship, then the next wave will trigger when you take down the last ship of the group with the highest bounty.
A word of warning. The unique ship is frequently something pretty small (destroyer etc.) so be careful what you target, because if you nail the wrong ship, you can end up in *very* deep trouble *very* quickly.

I used a ferox on it. my setup was 5 heavy missle lauchers, 1 lareg shiedl extender II 2 mid named shield extenders, 2 kinetic hardeners, 3 shield relays and a tech I BCU. basic tech I launcher btw.
the key is agro management. Yes, it is a *****, and becuase I am so damn cheap, It took me forever to do it. I used someting like 3k of missles It is a *****, much harder than the extravaganza's, but it can be done. just be patient.

Did it in a cyclone a few weeks back, took me a few hours, had to resort to warping in, killing one, then warping out on the last wave, hoping to cake walk it in my drake soon:)

not busted. just did it again... been through that mission too many times to count.
trick is just keeping range, aggroing one group at a time, and warping to different locations in the deadspace itself.
most of the rats, at least the guristas mission can hit you with their missiles from 150k+.
also, make sure you always leave the special named rat last, for it's the trigger to spawn the next wave of attack. you'll notice which rat it is, since it's the only one with a different name than the other groups. (it's obvious)
just use tact when running the mission and you shouldn't have a problem.
oh, and yeah, some of the rats are tough, HAC resists i think. takes a good beating to pop some, but if you're smart you should get out without any issues.
cheers --

How on earth have you managed to play from 2003 as caldari, heck your standing to caldari navy and others are quite decent, with such setups(the heavy mainly) and lets not forget totaly missing how missiles work and what ship bonuses are for and why medium drones might do a better job vs a medium sized ship then your bs sized weapons. First of all, it's not a 'quest'! This is not some sword swinging, kobold killing game!
Second, the OP doesn't care what ship you were able to complete the mission with.
Thirdly, the quoted poster above is correct. Each wave has a trigger ship, usually the one named/next level ship from all the others. Keep that one for last. When that one gets smoked, the next wave spawns. Hint: don't go for the most powerfull ship first.

It's not busted; just manage the aggro and it's really easy -- if you don't then it's very hard. Including the spawn that you meet there are 5 waves.

I'm thinking about training up IFF heavies so I can just punch F1-F7 on the drake and read this blasted novel for english class (982 pages ).
I mean, with twin core defence field purgers my tank isn't breaking anytime soon.

Yah its semi busted. players say yadyad dont kill the single specail one have yet to have one thats buggy on them.
I did this mission a number of times, learnt the patterns and nailed a bunch easy.
Then I got a Gurista one. And NO here wasnt any specail one in any wave....I was left in the end groping for lesser bounties and working my way upwards....BUT That didnt work either. And ended up with all 5 waves....all able to nuke from 150 miles. I mean 150 Miles plus with Heavies!!!
It was nutso....went and got my sniper tempest out and warped in from 100 miles out turned tail tanking all these missiles and slowly popped them all.
Surprise was one group of 5 bcs, was working on the second of this group and it was the final guy.....he was nuthing specail and was half the bounty of at least 10 ships still up.
So yeah most blockades missions work fine. .....just wait till you get one thats screwy....you will be going wtf!!
