They all have their bonus's tbh
If you don't have gal bs5 then the vindi is good because you get a stock 25% dmg bonus which is basically like having a short cut to bs5 and you also get the nice mwd bonus and tracking bonus.
Now the thing about the vindi that was nice before is that u could fir a multi spec in the 5th slot and could really be effective taking on mutiple ships with a decent jammer but post kali this is only really useful for eccm, sensor booster, tracking disruptor etc which are only useful in small numbers of engagements so the navy mega comes in above imo as the extra low is really nice for fitting an uber tank and a mag stab.
if u want to go cheaper the hyperion makes for an awesome tank with it's rep bonus and has better fittings than the mega but most ppl will still be using the mega as it's a good all round blaster ship and is obviously very cheap.
i personally have a vindi, hyperion and mega and use them all in different situations.

Originally by: Ecky X I would rather use a tracking disruptor, it will really throw off any BS you fight. Unless they are using blasters too, and have you webbed, even slight transversal will prevent most of their hits.
The problem with taking an expensive ship into PvP is this: What about their friends? Some people do roam alone, but quite often they have a friend or 2 or 8 in the next system over. Sure, you can beat them in 1v1 (don't need a Vindi for that), but if they can tank you long enough for their friends to get there, you're finished, no matter what you're in. Usually anyway. To be good at PvP is to be fast and proficient at taking them out, knowing when you can't win, and knowing how to get away if you see trouble coming.
You might consider joining a PvP training corp, they can give you a LOT of advice. Until you're proficient with cheaper ships, don't bother taking something expensive out, you'll lose if the first time.
mmm not really. i was solo'd in a mega loads of times and sure i've been ganked by 10 or something bs while killing one but if u do ur research on an area and corps, keep ur eye on local and scanner and be clever then you can avoid all but a few ganks.
very pessamistic view on solo'ing in bs there tbh
