I feel bad for your parents. I've never used the contract system, but I would imagine that the items don't just 'materialize' into your cargo hold nor are they delivered by the game (NPC "UPS"). So they would end up in your hanger at the station they were originally in.

I get what I pay for (access as far as is reasonable to the game - and really they do a fairly decent job at that compared to the online game market as a whole - as clearly stated in the EULA we all agreed to), do you? Subscribers can and will leave if they decide to. At no point in the EULA does it say "CCP will give free stuff to useless pilots who are not capable of earning it themselves so they can get lots of EPEEN without effort and be awesome" . The most sensible move CCP could make is never give gifts at all. Making the gifts mechanically useless is an OK compromise. Giving away stuff like Gecko just created a sense of entitlement and engendered huge thread-naughts with spoilt people demanding more.
