Heh, you know what? I missed this fight.
I was in the other room playing EVE CCG with my housemate and tweaking my deck after. Didn't hear my MSN go off calling me to battle, didn't hear if anybody came on TS and started yelling at me to come get involved.... and missed the whole thing.
The account I've heard involved an epic battle, us basically capturing a control tower off tri, and the ultimate capital logoffski.
I will say this: Tri do consistently manage to do us some damage when they show up. Admittedly, this is because the average Triumvirate attack on our space is specifically designed to arrive, wreak maximum havoc in a short space of time, and then scarper the moment it looks like our defenses have finally lumbered into action - or even avoid the fight altogether if it looks like we might be ready for you. It's easy to score kills when you blitz in and out of enemy territory and gank every carebear who's too slow or too unwary to get out of your way. Standing up and taking everything we have to give? That, I will grudgingly allow, is more impressive.
Jumping capital ships in was a bold, unexpected and atypical move for you guys, and I guess it proves that you do have the chops for a real fight after all - something I strongly doubted for the longest time. Congratulations on proving to me that maybe you're more than just a bad bark with no teeth attached.
Of course, you still have a long way to go in order to prove to me that you're the worthy PvP masters that you clearly like to think you are. I appreciate that there are times when our own pilots get a little over-zealous about waving the flag, but if you are looking to knock us down a peg as a collective, then you really should beware the irony of falling into the same trap. All people need a lesson in humility from time to time - especially those who take it upon themselves to deliver that lesson. +++ FLA - The hardest thing in EVE is to be the good guys.

Just parroting what I heard, mate. Like I say, I wasn't there.
I still have to beg the question though - why log off in our space at all? That's not impressive, that's easy. And it creates all manner of confusion - did you ctrl-q when the fight went against you, or was it genuinely the case that you all got tired at the same time and decided to log off for the night.
Look at this from our perspective. an entire enemy fleet logs off in space in the middle of a battle. There may not have been shots and missiles flying at the point of log-off, but nevertheless, the battle was still on.
You claim you all logged off because you were tired? well, why didn't you withdraw the capital ships and cyno jump them back out of 3jn, then pull out your other ships as well?
All the evidence, speaking as one who never saw the fight, points to logoffski. If you want to avoid such accusations in future, then pull your ships out rather than just quitting the game mid-way through the evening. THEN I'll believe you. +++ FLA - The hardest thing in EVE is to be the good guys.

On a side note, I think TRI needs to combine forces with FLA and go take Iron's stations. Cause they seem to be the easiest targets in the north, wonder how hard fighting in your cap ships within dock range would be if you could not dock.
Shame on you Sir, that is not nice
Funny, though...
Tri and FLA working together? comedy gold. They explode too easily to be worth teaming up with
*AHEM* uh, also that would be a betrayal of our friends neighbours and allies which is totally against everything FLA stands for.... yeah....

Never! I'll never turn to the darkside.
You've failed, Triumvirate. I am FLA... but my dad doesn't play EVE, so that's where the quote falls apart.

if the avalanche of smileys wasn't enough, then consider that post to be amended to include a "J/K lol" at the end.
