The worst way to learn pvp is to pay a ridiculous amount for knowledge you can pick up easily by reading forums and going on ops with your corp of choice.
And lol at AU logic, in the time it takes to save up 300 mil to waste on your "class" they could have learned more about pvp then they'll learn from you.

300 mil? Huh? You're right that is a rediculous ammount of isk. Now... try dividing that number by 60 and you'll get the correct ammount we've been accepting from students for over a year now.

Hmm.. Elisca Black... Black Eclipse Corp... Band of Brothers... yep, definately not Agony Unleashed. Gamble Dakota is laughing at AU for charging 300m per class?
No really, we're laughing with you too

pay someone to wardeck you. or wardeck someone for a few weeks. (and i dont mean wardeck newbie corps) get privateers to wardeck you or sth.
or head to kor-azor around the Ami area. when i lived there i was in a loose knit group of pirate corps who were blue to each other. should be plently of action for someone looking for trouble
ps: ive had word that a friend of mine has set up piracy shop in Gademam, im sure he'd love some visitors :)

Whoops, I fail. I pretty much just skim these threads and then post something offensive. -------------------------------------------------

No worries. Most people prefer the drive-through forums.

If your looking for solo or small gang PVP then I'd actually like to help out in that. I would not be willing to change corps to do so though. I specialise in solo PVP, and I do mean specialise.
I'm not gonna brag about or tell off my abilities at either PVP or training it. If you want some good help with solo PVP then send me a mail and we can talk about it. I'd do it for the fun of it and demand nothing in return, although donations would be nice.

i have a better idea than all the rest of that lot
make a corp and war dec repo industries we are a pvp merc corp we help u by giving u a somewat safe way of pvping and in the process u will learn how to setup gank squads tacklers heavy hitters and heavy tankers etc dec us for as long as u need to learn to pvp properly we normaly have 10 or more peeps online at any given time ill send u a ingame mail copy of this so u dont loose it best way to learn to pvp is by doin and we will both help each other in this
u die give good fights we are happy u learn how to kill us we dont mind and the only thing u have to pay is ship loss and the 1mill war fee ill give u a hint to where we normaly operate in the ingame mail ----------------------------------------------------

I have to disagree with people saying that you should go die lots of times to try learn... This doesn't really help you and if you have the cash anyway or you really want to learn... Join a corp like mine with pros that will teach you or join another good pvp corp but dont do the suggestion of dying lots of times in frigs and cruisers...
Since I tried the method and its bs... You don't learn jack...

Originally by: DHB FooFighter best advice I or anyone can offer you is.
Do it yourself. By this i mean experiance is the key. Find a place where you can enter 0.0 preferably, and use t1 frigs, cruisers, non expensive ships you won't mind losing.
YOu will most likely die the first 10 times you go out, but if you continue to die and don't know why PvP probably isn't what you should be specializing in.
Again, The best teacher in this game is experiance. Wheather on your own, or behind a more experiance player, the best and only way to become a better PvP'er is to die repeatedly in the search for knowledge.
For instance, I took a 70 man t1 cruiser gang into delve this evening. All of us died, yet i learned more from dieing then i did from surviving. And the whole point of the raid was to spam MC station with Spirits or die trying. Repeal Prohibition!!!!!!
Pay no attention to FOO. We taught him everything he knows. Well except for that T1 frig blob thing. That he got from Butterdog.
Seriously though, Foo's right. At some point experience must be the teacher. If someone came in and showed you the do's and don'ts you still have the coolness under fire aspect. You might know how but when it comes down to it will your pilots be all shakey and not hit the right keys? Will there be some panic or second thoughts when they need to be moving fast? You can't teach that in class. You'll have to experience it. Hire a cadre merc for a week or two and then just grab a bunch of cheap ships and march into 0.0 somewhere. Just about anyone in 0.0 will help you out from there.

Actually, we do take them out in a bunch of cheap ships into 0.0 to fight with 0.0 players, which right now includes Triumvirate, IRON, FLA, FOF, bob, and anyone else we come across. If there's one thing that our classes do well, its build pvp confidence. The first 1/2 of the class teaches knowledge in high and low sec. The 2nd 1/2 of the class is the fun application of that knowledge out in 0.0.
Will they not be able to maintain their cool under fire? Will they be all shakey and not hit the right keys? Will there be panic or second thoughts? To some extent of course but certainly not nearly as much as if it was their first time w/out being taught a vast wealth of knowledge ahead of time, and w/out a "guide" there to help them and explain things to them to aid in the learning process. At the end of the day, they've built up a lot more knowledge, experience, kills, and confidence than they could have gained in that same ammount of time were they to go it alone.
Does that make them instant pvp pros after one class? Of course not. No where near. It gives them a real jumpstart into pvp. Here's where personal experience in a non-class environment comes into play. I think you're trying to exclude the two from each other; either do this or do that. But, in reality, both are needed to become proficient at pvp. PVP-BASIC launches new pvpers into the air. Afterwards, they need to flap their own wings. You can learn to take off on your own, but you'll be struggling and looking up at those above you who are learning how to fly quicker and easier, and who are enjoying it
