My experience of the region now, is that apart from a few small tribes of Station Monkeys there is virutally no one living in the region. I can tell from the cheap stuff on the market - battleships below empire prices etc. Great opportunity for corps/alliances that want a nice little 0.0 home without POS warfare, I quite liked the region (I was both in NORAD and RISE) and think it's duly underrated. If all you're coming to 0.0 for is to make isk, you really do need to be in BoB space, or D2 space, or Red space, or whomever you feel has the best liklihood of protecting you While you do it. Fighting over sovereignty is, by definition, for people who are inclined to fight. That isn't to say that shooting at stuff is the only way to fight. You can also fight by being willing to pour your efforts as an industrialist into a war-effort for the sake of carving out your own piece of the galaxy, profit be damned. For someone who fancies themselves a business man in the game, the risk-to-reward equation is out of whack in going to live in the space of a smaller alliance that is just hanging on. There's nothing in their space that you won't find in BoB's space, and chances are, you're going to invest a lot of time, and end up broke in the end. When we made a change recently, we were approached by several corps who live in BoB's space. The rents were reasonable (what our crew would clear in a few hours mining high-ends per person per month). The people seemed un-stressed and happy with what they were doing, and I'm sure they're doing quite well for themselves. If you log on for the iskies, and not for the day-to-day epic struggle to survive and maybe make your mark. Go do it. Business wise, it's the smartest move. Drusus

We never saw much of BoB in the past year or so in Outer Ring. They consider it a crappy region (and rightly so, compared to Fountain). The most threatening move they are likely to do is to claim the region and install some puppet alliance there and since there are no important POSes to defend in OR, the bob war machine would not bother to help defend the claim. You must be looking in the wrong systems. :) I go trough all the major systems, I guess we have different definitions of a powerfull and significant fleet, but outer ring is up for grabs by ANY alliance who'd put in a serious claim.

It's where I live at the moment, I do short trips to fountain and spend every moment of eve in the area of outer ring, I trawl all the major populated systems for victims and I am an utter no-lifer, so I know the situation better than most. If I insulted your pvp fleet i'm sorry, as for my alt's sp, i'm mearly pointing out i'm not one of those velator alts that populate the area, i'm in outer ring to play ball, and as such I know the place. You really think i'm gonna roll in with billions in assets to glare at some moon in an unpopulated area? I've visisted every -single- system in Outer Ring, i've seen the "battles". If someone wants outer ring, really wants it, i've seen nothing to oppose a proper fleet.

OR in a nutshell: - Bad company seem to have moved in OR together with the brigade chaps buddies. They seem organized after a couple of weeks and use increasing numbers in gangs. - A Beagle gang apears with allmost with clockwork precision and fly the same route from TXW into OR and back every now and then. - The BoB's fly thru OR and do a intentional/unintentional "clean sweep fly-by" every now and then from Fountain. - Some princeps gang take a look inside OR from either CR - as they are buddies with YW - or upper syndi. - OSS used to pay RISE and thus OR visits be4 they napped eachother and now poke their heads into the border of OR, but am not surprized they might take a look into 4C- soonish again. - Rarely small Xelas gangs hang out arround in OR trying to get some kills. - Some ppl from RISE are seen in OR prolly as some assets still need a lil managing from time to time. - Occasionally random other pirates/gangs looking for fun appear with groups as Turbies to watch out for every now and then. - YW from CR doesn't seem to go into OR at all on their own to seek fun. They rather go direction PF as it seems. Apart from the input ourselves i reckon it an "ok" situation draft bout OR atm. No one own's it and no one will likely (want to) own it anytime soon for the reasons mentioned so often by so many ppl. Maybe Bad company and Co will want to, but only time will tell if they really want to. It takes determination and dedication to keep motivated in the no-mans land called OR. I've lived their long enough to know only the closest of friends who play for exactly that and nothing else who can have a shot at "controlling" OR while mostly trying to control themselves and their player base needs.
