Quote: I pay 130 a month for the internet plus 10 bucks a gig... and no competitors:(
40Ç for month, unlimited usage, 12mbps/1mbps link.
I've been thinking of switching to other operator for 40Ç/mo & unlimited usage & 12mbps/3mbps.
P.S. What I save on the Internet, I pay thousandfolds in taxes.

'Tis the new trend. Or to be more exact, its actually going out of trend again. I think the ISP logic went something like this:
ISP#1- Hey, we're a well established telecom service, we should sell internets! ISP#2- Hey, that sounds like a great idea- I'm going to set up my own internets factory! ISP#1- Hey, their stealing our bussiness! I know, lets up the "bandwidth" of our internets, then people will choose us! ISP#2- Hey, thats no fair! Lets raise our "bandwidth" even higher! ISP#1- Quick, top them! ISP#2- Bring on more "bandwidth"! ISP#1- More! ISP#2- MOAR!!!!!111 Both ISPs- Oh noes, we appear to now be selling more "bandwidth" than actually fits down our tubes. What do we do? Do we build more tubes? Wait, I know! We'll just limit how long you can use your massive bandwidth, so you can only download pretty much the total you could when you were on a 500kb line, so you run out after a week of use! Then our tubes will be ample! Customer: Feck...........
That's not the only dodge. To get the connection speed higher, the companies actually sell the same bandwidth as many as 50 times to different people, hoping that they don't all connect at the same time - at peak hours, you can be lucky to get a quarter of what's advertised
Still, I'm lucky enough to have some neighbours' wireless networks in range if I need a backup. I'm not alone - a friend of mine in Durham reports that one unsecured network near where he lives (in an area mainly populated by students) has over 100 people using it at times. The owners haven't even changed the default usename/password for setting up the router ------
So you're lagged out in Motsu/Saila/Aramachi, but you want that CNR? Do missions for another corp! |

I pay $50/month for 256k DSL.
Sucks, yes, but on the other hand, I'm just glad to have broadband at all living in a town with 400 people out in the sticks.

Thanks, do you have any stats from fleet battles just to see what the worst possible scenario can be?
