Hey guys I have a question. If we ever get T2 battleships, which Tier 1 BS would you like to see turned into a tech II counterpart and what would you like to see as the T2 bonuses.
For me, I think I would have to say I would like to see the Apoc, with a tracking and damage bonus.
I don't know much about the other races BS's but I think the Scorp with a resist bonus to shields and maybe shield boost amount. I think a better tank is called for now that EW has been nerfed.
That also begs the question, should the T2 battleships be based on the same tier T1 battleships or just pick whatever is thought of as the best option?

Yes, three boni. It's such an ugly ship, it deserves uberness!!
PS: Imo T2 BS would screw over all smaller ships if they get HAC resists. I hope they'll either be gang-ships or that they never see the light of day. _______________

They should be command ships with about the same DPS but better resists.
If you give them both better resists AND better DPS it'll ruin the game.

I personally like what Farjung sujested during the Alliance Tournament to give them the limited ability to create a jump portal similar to the titan's but with limitations so you can't do what the titan is able to do. Maybe can create the portal only one jump away and you have a limited mass (cumulative of the ships masses) that can go through it. So you can have more t1 frigs and less BS's.
I would not like to see BS with hac and command ships god like resistances either...

Cool idea. But you have to give them a little more Umph...so what would it be. I see this jump portal as a role bonus, like on force recon ships or interdictors, but the ship should still be slightly more powerful. So give me something here ;).

Oveur said during EVE tv that 1, they wont be big hacs (because that would make them uberpwonmobileshaxxoromfgimfried) and 2, they will probably have limited jump portal capabileties although he didnt specify how or what.

How about allow them to use XL weapons but have a weak tank to make them anit cap ships but with a tank that will not allow them to take on a POS or other ships with out support. !

I want to a few 'T2 BS' variants.
Capital escort Like a normal BS, but with a jumpdrive. No, not buffed, no shinies, that's about it.
Mobile shield projector. BS with 'POS shield' feature. (Special module perhaps?) Something with fairly small radius, 5-10km maybe. Uses a huge amount of cap to keep running, of the kind of quantity that it'll go down in about 20-30 seconds without cap transfers. A useful amount of hp, maybe 100k unhardened, and with a rubbish base recharge rate. (Like, 100,000s).
Bit like siege mode maybe, you can't move whilst the shield is up. Or maybe you get it to 'bolt on' to your main shield, so you can harden up, and boost, but ... well, when it's gone, so's your shield and then you die.
Flagships? Command bonuses, no better than normal BS, and perhaps a bonus to 'fleet command effectiveness' or something?
Heavy interdictor. AOE web effect, bit like warp bubble. Or maybe just a cross between huginn and lachesis.
I really think that making a T2 BS that's 'better' would be a really bad mistake to make. It'd become 'must have' in short order. (even today, in this EVE world of T2, the battleship is still a key part of a fleet).
Other ideas? Logistics battleship maybe? Halfway between a Logistics cruiser and an 'actual' battleship - tanks well, does the logistics thing well, and with good range, but no real firepower.
