I just read into your "champion" words that you meant to say that the real wars are fought by those in the fleets. While that is undeniably true the mindset that wars are also exclusively won there is one that's about a year or two behind current gameplay. Ofc, that's not what you meant either ]
What I also would like to assure you is that threads like this one are a waste of your time. There's no use to pointing out that people shouldn't take stuff personal. They either will or they won't, you're not about to change that. (Most of em only pretend to anyway) Cupdeez for example is your typical guy that doesn't let go enough. He feels it's his duty to point out how BoB had no buisiness in the prior thread where iirr he himself pointed out how BoB had been using the same 'exploit' that thread was about.
He's the kind of person that fails to see the trees for the forest once drawn into forum arguments. The type of person you should be talking to instead of posting this thread here. There be others like him everywhere, no denying that, but a clean town starts with your own yard first so to say.
And tbh, I was kinda hoping you (CA) wouldn't stop being so good at snowing yourself under on here, it's kinda entertaining.

I mean no disrespect, but is this the way the game was before all the l33t speak, immature, ex-SWGer smacktards, and organizations like goons started playing around the end of Æ05 early Æ06?
On a side note I would like to thank you guys for giving me another angle to get girls that I hang out with to play this game. Not only can you attempt to take over the universe, but the ôgossipö (the word girls I know use for smacking) on these forums is something a chick would definitely like.

I think most people with 1/2 an ounce of common sense also subsribe to this. I certainly do. I've been to a few EvE meets, and sat down and drank copious quanities of alcofrolic substances with 'mortal' enemies in-game from CELEST members, and Outbreak just after they came to fountain, to F-E chaps and many many more that i can't remember and had a riot of a time, and very sore head the next day! In fact i'd go as far as to say, if i know you enough to talk to IRL, i'll prolly call ya primary if someone else doesn't
Even the forum is part of In-game. I've more than likely smacked people and been alright to them IRL. It's not a two-faced thing, it's an in-game/out of game thing. This section included. When most people are at EvE meets or whatever, be they big to-do's or small gatherings, it doesn't matter who ya wear ya colours for, everyone an EvE player and that wins out ive found.
Yes Rift. Thats all I'm saying. It's that kinda respect I wish LV and CA could have. Fight like hell in game, but not thrash the bejesus out of each other on the forums, or at least thrash with common sense and don't attack people morally. Like I said, especially because most don't know each other in real life. But they flame and project their own conclusion without having met the real person.

Well said Rift.....
Each year we arrange the Copenhagen Gankathon twice...where EVE players from all over is invited...we drink, have fun and tell tall tales...and people come from all over europe, from BoB to D2 and every other alliance...usually the last couple of years we have had between 60 to 98 attendents each time, and this is the 4 year we are arranging this meeting...never had any problems between players... in fact we have alot of fun....And i think it generally shows how players are from EVE...mortal enemies ingame, but fun loving EVE players out of game.
And how the hell to I get to such an event??? I drink, shoot the ****, and party??? Someone...info please, or at least where can I locate the info?? lol ...

If CA and LV could have the same relationship that CA and SA had back in the day...
I recall good fights on both sides winning and lossing... That is the game that got me into EVE.

Going to have to disagree with you there, My favourite war in this game was probably ATUK vs the north, the reason's for this? well the pvp was constant and great fun, but asides from that there was a genuine feeling of hatred which fueled the combat and made it seem real on some level.
So while you can say most silly comments on these forums are imature and degrading, some do serve a purpose to the role playing element of the game.

I know you're also full of respect for the ol' CA and therefore should not compare BOB to xCA.

...which is why I feel smack is fine as stated earlier, just don't think it should target a person on a personal or moral level. Smack for the good fight is 4tw. It's a matter of how the smack is utilized. People have to question...am I fueling a war(which is cool) or am I actually degrading someone I really dont have a half assed clue about. Yes, agreed, the right type of smack can fuel a good fight though.

Yes, it had more style. Imho. Now its just endless rants and calling teh other side a complete moron, idiot and a complete worthless tard. That is not fun nor is it stylish. This can be done without stooping to the level we are seeing now, it just takes more time and effort (and more "rp") which people does not seem to have anymore. I mean, when Jade and Halseth and the likes were really going at it they basically said the same thing but in so much better wording and with the proper arrogance of a diplomat.
On another note:
And being the outsider in 99.95% of all threads I dont know what certain things are all about but one thing is very clear; the talk of "not taking it seriously", "Its all RP'ing", "its just how we portrait our selves" etc. Its a bunch of bs to be frikkin honest. There are a lot of people that quite obviously doesnt have a clear idea on where the game ends and reality starts and that some things can not be combined. And its really not that hard to understand either, a lot of people put in a lot of time to build what ever empire, ship, module or veldspar harem and I can easily see why one could get really upset if someone threw a wrench in the plans. The bad part is that for some the line where others take a break is invisible or perhaps non-existant.
Anyway, I liked the OP's idea, the thought behind it, so props!
Cheers, Lowa - I see you at the next Copenhagen Gankaton!

100% correct. Some people need to look away from their screen and out the window more often and failing that, at least use proper wording and punctuation if they want to play the insults game. A straight in-the-face approach doesn't mean you have to write in this manner: "You are insignificant. idiot". Nor does it carry any extra honesty, we can be direct without being unimaginatively blunt.
It just means someone is bored to hell to formulate his/her insult in a proper manner. If they are that bored expressing it themselves, what kind of wheight does it carry after all?

You mean you thought people actually took all this seriously ?
My god ! That's shocking
Btw, since I can't be seen to be friendly to you guys (and have no intention of doing so anyway), CA has no place in that lineup of alliances, it has yet to earn itself a place there, assuming it ever will, which won't be accomplished by inconsequential frolicking about around some NPC stations
Don't sell the hide before.. you know. So far you are nothing, prove yourself before you get into the next 30-page flamewar about your greatness.
