I've been playing since release and in the early days you didn't see the level of personal attacks you see these days. I think one of the reasons you alluded to. There is far more at stake now than in the past. Loosing Outposts and Capital fleets equals a lot of hard work and time invested. That in itself can make people take things too seriously.

War effort can be completely pushed into a strong mode by smack, flaming, and all that **. But either way, how much fun would Bob have if players started quiting. Again, it simply comes down to how you smack. Ya, it's cool to someone off making *s at their alliance, character, whatever. But it takes a level of maturity to know the difference in offending someone on a personal level and ing them off to get them to fight. You boys/and ladies if the Bobies have them know without players your attack on the Galaxy would be for not. Ticking someone off is cool if your trying to get a fight out of them, but offending people personally is crappy man. Having some hate or rival for an alliance is by no means wrong, but for them to hate you personally becuase you did not use tact in your flaming is weak... However, noting that Bob does have a few forum ***s that use tact quite well to get a fight, props for that, but like all alliances you have asshats. Again that being stated that all(not just bob)have asshats.

Why would anyone hate me? you don't know my nationality, my colour, my age, wether i'm married or single children or no children. you don't know where i work or even if i work. so why would you hate anyone at all? esspecially people that play a game for crying out loud. the point here is to have fun. the word rivalry is a good word to use and it is the word used best to fuel a war ingame. why disrespect anyone in the forum at all? last i saw the forum board here is titled "discussion" flaming and smack isn't discussing. Discussing is something mature people do when we sit together and talk about various things, like how your day went, what the weather is like etc etc, respectfully. i very rarely come on to the forum because of the smack and blatant disrespect on all parts not a singled out alliance , corp, or person. If it settled down 'a lot' then i'd probably take time to look and discuss on this board I'm too new to the game to even care less about the politics of eve, but then again thats not why i play this game. BTW sorry id my punctuation and spelling is awful but my wife is rushing me off my comp family day out today dog, children, fun stuff to do. i hope it makes sense have a great day everyone! And scary. And for the record; I dont want this to be an all cuddly place (forums or game). I play and talk about this game just because that it is a mature and tough game. Rivalry, backstabbing, strong minds and emotions are very much needed, its just that it passes the line of what is considered "a healthy amount" too often. Imho.
