What would be needed to make a great anti-pie org? I mean in the ways of rules/organization/fund raising/tactics/etc? I know that in general, anti-pies have a bad rep, so how would one go about creating a "good" anti-pie corp?
Please keep the cynism to a minimum (kinda feel this is pointless to ask, but anyways...) FOR THE EMPEROR!

This would be number 1 most important rule as this seems to be number 1 complaint against anti-pies.

Isn't that the best way to lose? I mean, blobs are ineffective against pirates since you're not stupid enough to undock with 20+ hostiles in local, but going solo is just as dumb, as that leaves you open to getting ganked by those you hunt, no? FOR THE EMPEROR!

1.Yes 2. Yep calling people cowards trying to egg them out is really annoying were not made of money you know 3. a Small wolfpack of 5 could do damage but when local jumps by a massive number no one stays put if you want to bust a gate camp though yes you will need support but don't blob all the time as I am in a 1 man corp and sitting docked in a station is boring

Question is, then, what do you consider a "blob"? I.e. how many is too many? FOR THE EMPEROR!

when camp busting the only way to know if you have too many is if the node crashes
Also make sure your corp has acces to lvl4 locater agents and run them on tiller odds are if hes online you'll find a camp. Hunting down a certain master of the black arts named after a spice is sooo 2006

I meant more in an non-camp-busting capacity.

Funnily enough, tiller was the second person I thought of when I discovered I had access to a locator (first was Verone, but then Veto went merc).

Well it depends I find a small fleet of 7 is easy to move around and fun to do so in wolf pack form (frigs and cruisers)

Depends what you mean by "good" - featuring high profiles pvpers ? Showing exemplary teamwork ? Operating with a good mood ? Or being dedicated to the fight of Good vs Evil and acting "virtuous" at all times.
T2 ships are probably a must to catch pirates without a highly obvious ganksquad. But they're costly , most likely only affordable for merc activities. Baiting tactics work best if you have to fight with T1 ships and numbers. Well you won't even need numbers if you manage to bait pirates one by one.
Oh , and don't use login traps to avoid the obvious blob issue , that's lame

Patience and a good covert ops pilot is all you need.
Also, remember that most pirates in empire operate with a big disadvantage in that they are often flagged. So when you attack them remember that they are probably going to run against even numbers since the sentries are on your side.
But properly fitted ships, with good warp in points can easily defeat any pirates who linger in one place for too long.
Most anti-pirates in eve bring more than equal numbers and then smack the pirates in local when they run away. This makes them look dumb. If they wanted to kill something, they should have brought fewer ships and actually made the pirates think they had a chance of winning.

Leave a heavily tanked t1 ship with t1 mods thats fully insured in an asteroid belt like a cruiser or battlecruiser. Have the pilot watch his scanner for probable incoming while aligned. When the pirates show up if there are to many he warps out and if its a number your force can take he stays and warp scrambles 1 or 2 of them. After the pirates attack your seemingly solo bait ship you undock with the rest of your boys and warp in. Wallah. Dead pirates. Sure a lot of people will jump in and go " i would nevaar be stupid enough to fall for that trick, yaaarrggg!!1!!." Doesnt matter, most pirates will. Oh and if at all possible keep your bait pilot in a different corp then your gank squad. Makes it less obvious.

@ Mutant Caldari & Marcus: You seem to think that I am an anti-pirate. I am not (though I may become one eventually). I am simply asking some questions so that I know how to set things up should I pick that route. Secondly, it wouldn't be about the profit, so I don't really care that pirates don't fly haulers.
@ Tobias Sjodin: You obvisouly chose to ignore my plea to keep cynism out of this thread, or haven't read the OP at all. Either way, please don't waste your and my time with such posts. Thank you.
@ Stakhanov: By "good" I mean effective and "professional" (i.e. not seen as a bunch of smacking carebears out for revenge). Thanks for the advice about the Tech II ships. Finally, what's a login trap?
@Shramis: Thanks for the additional tricks.
@ Glenntwo: Wouldn't it be more effective to have the bait in one system, "ratting", and the rest of the guys in the adjacent system at the gate, ready to jump in? FOR THE EMPEROR!

Baiting works, but if you're going to hunt pirates, do it because you want money or to kill people. If I hear about another moron and his quest to cleanse the universe of pirate-scum, i'm going to lose it. If you're really into protecting the weak or whatever, then go nuts, but that's the day you start going bankrupt.

Why is that?
Protecting the so-called innocents is not your job. If you make it your job, you will only lose ships/money. You might get a few kills here and there, but your losses will be much higher. It's just a fact of eve-life. If you want to fight and be a "good guy" in the process, go merc or just be a PvP'er. Once you cross that line into being an unofficial cop, you're instantly becoming a hyprocrit. I'd bet every isk I have that if you went anti-pirate, you'd be a pirate within 6 months.

I dont think theres anythnig worn in wnating to become a cop corp. There arent enough of them I have eyt to see a so called "Anti Pirate Corp" Actually activley seek out and hunt down pirates all the time. It would be interesting and tbh if more of these proper anti pirate corps were about, more ppl will move into that area where the anti pirates operate as long as there reputation is good
And this would benefit both sides, just a shame atm there really aint a proper anti pirate corp just so called anti pirate corps.

Speaking from my experience I think at least in my case it comes down to 2 things
#1 Fun #2 ISK
those 2 things are what keeps a player playing eve, and there is much more of both to be had as a Pirate, weather that be in low sec or 0.0
But by all means hunt us, we enjoy it so long as you bring fair numbers to the battlefield, Blob's are bad for your eve experience

If you want to become an anti-pirate, I suggest you try pirating for a few months at least. If you want to catch pirates, it's good if you can think like a pirate. Know the mechanics of flagging / aggressing / baiting, and it shouldnt be to hard to take down some pirates.
Alternatively, join CVA for a while, they are pretty experienced in hunting pirates, both in large and small/solo gangs/set-ups.

Funnily enough, I've thought about both of those things... will have to give it some more consideration.
