There are far more reasons to believe that they in fact do belong to BoB, and are to do as instructed.
The other point is that no one really cares, but it does seem odd to maintain the charade. If you came out and said that you were indeed BoB's *****es, or whatever, I honestly don't think it would detract from your ability to attract contracts. You guys are good at what you do, everyone knows that. You won't attack BoB for very good reasons...they're your landlord, no one has come up with a decent plan and the ISK required. Again, absolutely nothing wrong with that. That still leaves a ton of other alliances able to either hire you, or feel your special brand of warfare.
Other than the forum games, which in many ways are BoB's favourite part of the game, there's no point maintaining that you're not BoB's best friends in the whole world, and that you guys haven't already agreed that if you're both not married by the time you turn 40 that you'll marry each other. It's ok. We don't mind.
Anyway, no one should be surprised of course, and go D2 and go IRON, kick their asses.
You said it so it must be true. Deal's or whatever aside, only the higher ups in bob and mc know of any land deal thingy so speculate as you wish, but specualtion doesnt = fact , sorry
You're right of course, speculation doesn't equal fact. But don't forget that if you took the acts of the MC in the past year or so, and those of BoB, then any reasonable person would be able to conclude that the chances of them working together are a lot higher than the chances of them being entirely seperate. |

MC are not neutral when hired. They are no civilian entity. They act upon the call of isk. So whoever hires them via a contract dictates who they attack.
In short, what you proclaim is not the concept of neutrality so all the rabble rabble of how mercs can be neutral is just stupid.
IF MC are "off contract" its a completely different story tho....
We have been through this basically on every occasion MC announced a contract, so maybe just leave it and be glad you finally got the fight you smacked and flamed so hard for the last few months....

So is this like the time...
...ASCN was convinced that MC and FIX were BoB slaves and were going to attack any moment, so they axed the positive standings they had, and started raiding FIX? Only to find later that they weren't the target, and all the effort expended against FIX drew people away from defending against a real threat?
...wait...that's not it...
...or maybe when BoB stepped inbetween FIX and SA fighting, and enforced a peace when they wanted to stabilize the South, and SA was convinced that BoB was going to attack any second due extreme tinfoil shortages, so they declared war on BoB?
...nope, I don't think that's it either. Perhaps it's unfair to make comparisons, after all, each mans stupid decisions really are his alone aren't they?
Frothing-at-the-mouth-tinfoil-asshatery really isn't an endearing feature on these forums, however it can provide ample entertainment on a cosmic scale even in the worse of times.
Thank you for the entertainment; the loss of assets and even the death of alliances due to rampant out of control speculation and theory here, is remarkable.

I don't know why the Mercenary Coalition even bother with the pretense of neutrality or being money-oriented, for all the MC claims in the past about how they'd take on BoB if the price was right (which we knew damned well were lies at the time anyways) I know that ASCN told MC to name their price, and they refused.
They can claim up and down they're not lackeys, and I'm sure there will be a BoB member that lies with every breath he takes on the forums categorically denying everything in typical fashion, but more and more people are not buying the party line anymore.
Rather refreshing, really. I really never thought I'd say this, but, good luck, D2.

Edited by: Rebellion on 26/01/2007 00:47:17 Tinfoil hat explosion galore.
To those saying that "BoB own MC", maybe eventually you will realize that by your ritual reactionary stance to every movement of BoB, we own you more than anyone else. You have voluntarily given up control of your game by choosing to be directed by the ebb and flow of the currents that form upon the wake of BoB. We don't even have to attack you to control you.
Let's see what sort of tinfoil hattery we see today: 1. BoB move north, multiple ships (was it 70?) and several freighters (7, right?). Let's forget that those numbers are more like a single BoB corporation. OMG BoB are invading D2! 2. MC gets a new contract against D2! OMG BoB sent/paid/threatened/seduced(?) MC to attack D2!
I won't even bother disproving these, as one must NEVER underestimate the power of the tinfoil hat versus plain common sense. Common sense always loses. So let's assume that this is all correct.
So, children, what did we learn today?
"BoB and MC are attacking D2!"
Very good. What state does that leave BoB's regions in?
"OMG THEY ARE UNDEFENDED!"
Alas! The great flaw in the strategy has been exposed! Now is the time to attack Delve!
Therefore we see that if you all truly believe the voice of the tinfoil hat, you are then left with a single brilliant opportunity to attack Delve.
Take it.

You really don't know what you're talking about, do you? Last time I checked, the only time we were fighting with MC was against IAC, and MC have had plenty of other contracts in that timeframe.

I am genuinely surprised somebody misses my posts. ... ofc it could be sarcasm.. but meh..
.. anyways..
Independence of action and maverick political positioning was never EVE's strong point. Even though it is a game that we play.. there is the potential for real loss of time and effort via the unforgiving game mechanics of pvp. Always there have been centres of power in this game and entities that gravitate towards them, as far as 0.0 is concerned.
However, with the advent of even heavier investment in 0.0 infrastructure that EVE has been promoting, there is more to be lost than ever before. You just have to look at the bill for the war that ASCN paid. The loss in isk involved in losing a full scale war for a 0.0 alliance with heavy infrastructure is simply staggering. Even though its a game.. its still gotta hurt.
So.. I think its necessary to look at the relationships that entities have within the correct context.
If you have deployed outposts in 0.0 space and you hold territory you need friends.. lots of them..... no alliance is imune to this... not even Robert.. and certainly not MC or FIX.
The same goes for any other 0.0 alliance these days.... independence of thought from the centres of power is an unaffordable luxury for the smaller entities.
On the subject of FrankenCurse.. well.... I think its an appropriate name for it it would be nice to see CA come back and do their thing.. but I think we all know those days are over.
Nobody should be surprised with MC and FIX being very aligned towards their landlord or for the northern alliances to be aligned to their big brother. As far as the big picture is concerned its the same deal all over.
So now we got 3 power blocks instead of 4... big deal, ASCN was just the odd man out.
Hey maybe North vs South will work this time round.... meh.. what do I know.
On a sidenote.. my subscription runs out at the end of the month.... so yeah don't be surprised if I suddenly stop posting... .. though I'm sure it will make some people very happy.
