Just make 'em up to fit the flavour of your corp. Military ranks aren't much good for a pirate corps for example.

In the CF, it's a little simpler: from the bottom we have the private, then you have a corporal, which is basically just a private with some experience. From there you move to master-corporal, which is the second-in-command (2i/c for short) of a section. Then you have the sergeant, which is the section commander. Above him, you have the Warrant Officer(1), which is the platoon's 2i/c. Then you have the Master Warrant Officer, which is the company sergeant major, and finally, you have the Chief Warrant Officer, which is the regimental sergeant major. This is all for an infantry battalion. Then above and parallel to that, you have the officers, which I am not going to go into (basically, all the ranks up to lieutenant-general are the same as in the US Army, except a 1st Lieutenant is just called a Lieutenant).
(1) Warrant Officers are Non-comissioned members in the CF
