sadly sundays are always touch n go its a family day really, then weve got the month of december and to top that i very much doubt there are 10,000 active eve accounts.
maybe when new players come yes until then you'll be lucky to peak 6500 "Teh lord of Nonni"

Most of our corp was'nt logged on due to family committments. The rest becuase they did'nt want to spend ages sat in a station waiting for the servers to crash.
Most of the other corps we're associated with did'nt log either.

I logged on, then I discovered it takes 4 minutes to load up my HQ system with 40-50 people there, everytime I exit the station or jump in. Bravo lets make it 10k next log in and 8 minutes to load.

I think it shows how small numbers of players read this forum.
Can you blame them with all the CRAP on these forums?
PS: I lost over 150mil in 2 weeks time and it nearly made me quit because of CCP's lack of interest in their customer care, i never had that before that i wanted to quit a game cuz of lack in CS...
I bet CCP lost 50% of their customers that way, that could have still been playing. __________________________

Edited by: Alex deLarge on 08/12/2003 19:31:16 It was a BIG failure, lets face it. It was even such a big failure that (c)ccp removed the in-game news board post about it, I rest my case. The big log out will come if not all the problems with the game are resolved soon.

I still think the main problem was lack of knowledge , forums are read by only a tiny faction of Eve pilots.
I was thinking maybe there should be another way of comunicating such things, maybe each corp should have the right to send a all players message once a month, and all messages snt this way would be stored in one folder for easier viewing /deleting.Or something like this...
I have read about a number of fun events organised by Eve pilots that has been canceled because of lack of interest beacause in my opinion nobody knew about it.

Quote: Edited by: svetlana on 08/12/2003 11:35:13 There are a lot of different opinions and discussions about this, but if you take a step back and look at the numbers objectively you shouldn't feel too disapointed.
What we saw was pretty much the same turnout as any other sunday. The slight increase in numbers was due to players who could satisfy each of these criteria: 1) knew/cared about the event 2) were in the right timezone to hit peaktime 3) don't normally log in on sunday (people who normally play sunday wouldn't effect the number at all since they are already counted in all the previous sunday numbers)
1) People who come here to read the forums are a small and hardcore portion of the playerbase, it often feels like the same 30 people (and a few exclamation marks;)all yelling at each other over and over
I think most players (casual gamers) barely have enough spare time to play a computer game, so they don't go trolling about on the web afterward.
The CCP news item on the event was only posted for 1 day in my timezone, so there isn't really an argument there. most folks don't play everyday like we do (hardcore forum readers/ flamers). And even if they did read the item, the majority casual gamer is not likely to take time out of his/her day to log in at an inconvenient time. they are called casual gamers because they do not rate gameplaying as a very high priority in life <gasp>
2) where you live, can't help that.
3) Think about this-- the fact that i logged in with all my accounts for the event would not increase the numbers at all, since every sunday i always have those same accounts logged in. that would go for many of the hardcore players too i imagine. so if you take into account that mainly the hardcore players would even help out in this event, then it is amazing that the number went up at all-- in theory, it shouldn't have. you guys must have a hella lot of alts you don't normally log in
Since the numbers were close to normal, that doesn't show a lack of interest in the game or event. But what it does illustrate is a good lesson about how few casual-gamers read forums, how small any hardcore playerbase is, and the folks who love this game are logged in all the previous sundays as well.

Snuh? I am an Aussie and that wasn't the problem. The problem was it was Monday freaking morning when you planned it. I am not skipping work to log onto a game to break a world record. Unless your paying me for it
Maybe a different day would of been better to do it
I agree i had 2 americans in corp ,( mostly we are around GMT) the best time organise events was saturday afternoon , so we all could meet.
