So yes, a myrmidon is flexible and can use several types of setup, each which gives it a bonus versus some other shiptypes and according setups ... is a myrm the overall best PvP ship right now? ... I'm 100% sure it isnt ... Is it a good PvP ship? ... definatly yes on that one ... but is it overpowered? ... nope, its fine as it is ...
It is able to carry 5 heavy drones ... Sweet deal for a BC, i agree ... Against an inexperienced PvP Pilot, this is definatly a huge bonus ... If he ignores the drones, he'll often get his behind kicked, and with reason ... against an experienced PvP pilot, this is a challenge ... If the opponent is able to kill drones, or at least damage the drones so they will have to be called back and docked, this means a major drop in dps for the myrm ... so yes, if fully deployed, and untargetted, the myrm does more damage then the other BC's, however, if the drones are being targetted, the myrm has overtime a more average damage, similar to the other BC's (mind the phrase, its average over the battle, not looking at dps over 1 second of the fight) ... Drones can be damaged and even popped, unlike guns on other ships ... actually, even if you dont manage to kill a myrm, finishing off a myrms drones (T2 heavy ones) is a huge isk blow, even if he manages to get away ... and he doesnt have the drone bay to replace a lost heavy, taking out 20% of his drone damage ...
So a myrm is versatile ... it could tank armor or shield, it could nos, it could blaster ... can it do all those things at the same time? ... Hell no ... Any skilled PVP who masters his ship has a chance against a skilled myrm pilot ... just because you dont have a guaranteed IWIN button against a myrm, does it mean myrm is overpowered? ... Just because you fly a BS, does it mean you have to have 100% guarantee you'll pop a BC? .. the more unpredictable the fights, the more fun it will be ... it would actually require some brains then to PvP, and not only following the manuals ...
