Over the past couple of weeks I have been searching and finding successfully a number of exploration sites. Which have been great fun and a welcome additon to the game. Today i found another one and i'll try and explain what i did.
I scanned using Ladar probes until I got a lock on the actual location from my secondary scan i was only 9500km away from the location of the site. I scanned down the actual gate not a problem. I bookmarked the location as I have done on many times before, where i carried this scan out from and named it Ship Drop. I then ejected from my ship and warped to the location of the site (ejected just incase it was immediate aggro etc.) Not an issue got to a gate. The problem is I now can not warp back to where I left my ship?!? Due to its proximaty to the explorer site entrance everytime I try and warp to my "ship drop" bm I end up at the site gate. I have petitioned this issue in game and have been informed that it is not a Bug!!!!!!! Ok if it is not a bug then why can I not go and collect my ship. I have even got a friend to come over in a probing ship also to try and locate my ship and he is unable to get a lock on it. I am within 9500km of its location at present and have spent the past 2 hours searching for it through probing etc. I think this is one serious bug to be honest. I am unable to continue playing the game to the level I was playing it to due to this issue, if every time I find a site and wish to eject from my ship before warping in that I will be unable to reclaim my ship afterwards even though the spot is bookmarked.
I hope there is some form of explanation to this and that eventually my ship can be scanned down or sat back in my hangar !?!?!?!
Has anyone else sufferedthis same issue if so I would like to hear about them and whether or not you eventually got around the issue.

Frustration is at an all time high.

This is a known condition, and was talked about by others. Get another ship, enter the gate and perform the required action to make the complex go away. Then you should be able to warp back to your bookmark and get your ship.

Edited by: Neuromandis on 28/01/2007 01:17:48 Also, 9.500 km is doable by a fast ship. Maybe you can pinpoint its direction and reach it normal-space? Oh well... now that I think of it, what about the ship you go in? Damn.... Another thought is go to the entrance in a shuttle - pinpoint your ship on directional, and then leave the shuttle travelling towards it for the next five - five and a half hours, maybe doing corrections to the course every hour or three...

step 1: load up a t1 frig w/ mwd and inert stabs.
step 2: ?
step 3: self destruct your t1 frig and go home in your helios

seems to be the case I remember down in D-F a corp called Hedghogs in a Fog had a safe near enough the entrance to 10/10 complex that unless you warped to the saf from a certain position you just ended up at the gate everytime so seems to be something that has been around for a while.

if you haven't done so already, please bug report this issue.
I'll also speak to Zrakor in the morning and get his view on this. _____________________________ ~Jiekon ~CCP QA Known Issues The LogServer Bug Reporting Guides for new Revelations Features

It's all in the guide... The problem is you parked your ship inside the deadspace effect, which means warping to it will drop you off at your site instead. Next time, park your ship further away and you'll be ok. This time, either petition or just wait for the site to despawn.

Take this as a learning experience, just like when you learned to enter in the pod to avoid the immediate aggro.
That sarcastic statement said, it would be nice if the game had a warning when you ejected from your ship inside a deadspace pocket. ----- CCP: Please make ship loot to drop in a can next to the wrecks. |
