Do you have a certain flare for innovative and attractive web design?
Well get your creatives juices flowing, because Griefwatch has just the opportunity for you.
The Details:
We are looking to add at least 2 new templates to the Griefwatch Killboard System and we want YOU to design it. We are looking for a mock up of a full template design, a digital sketch if you will, of a new and innovative layout for a killboard. We don't want a re-design of our current templates. We're trying to push our template system to it's limits and we want you to do the pushing. We are looking for something we have not seen before.
The Prizes:
The BEST Design:
1 BILLION ISK and a FREE killboard for a year
The 2ND BEST Design:
500 MILLION ISK and a FREE killboard for a year
But that's not all! There are, technically, unlimited places. That means that even if your design isn't the best or the 2nd best, if we like it, we'll buy it from you anyways! This means that it is possible for every single participant to win this competition!
The Requirements:
A single, high-quality image of your proposed design for a killboard main page that is no more than 1000 pixels wide linked in this thread by Sunday, February 11th at 20:00 GMT.
The Fine Print:
If your proposed design is chosen, you will be paid the prize money to provide us with the necessary images to complete the template. You will be paid half the prize when your design is picked, and the rest when you have provided us with said images. You may submit multiple entries and revise entries if you choose.

I'd love to try this, but my slicing and website skills are somewhat inexistant, but I can do all the graphical stuff, so would this affect my ability to enter the competition?

We are more interested in the design than we are the actual website creation. We can handle most of that. If you can provide us with enough so that we can possibly chop it up ourselves, that might work as well.
This is a creative design contest, we will work with people who have really creative designs.

I will be entering this contest also, almost got my first entry ready. Can we maybe introduce new features to the killboard? I seen something in one that would be cool to see in this new template im making.

I realise it says no a re-design, but I kinda ended up doing that by accident, not being too sure how you could 'push the template system', I kinda opted for the easy. But better than nothing I suppose.

Seeing as I cna revise entries and add multiple ones, some ideas as to what you mean by pushing the sytem, as not being too web design savvy at the moment, I'm not sure what's possible and what isn't.

Its more of a redesign. This doesn't have many changes, its mostly about simple changes in info that might turn a KB to a more interesting website to visit. (and the color is also a improvment :P since you dont have a lighter/white KB template atm).

Already working on another one, that might bring a few more features and a waaayyyyyy more inovating design :D

I'm definitely gonna try for this, if I don't manage to get an entry in by the deadline, I'll hit myself. Hard.
Now I know this will be a template for a website so obviously all the images need to be separate, etc, so the submission format is only like a mock screenshot of the final result of all your themed images together?
If possible, could you post a small list of image restrictions (res/size) if that makes your templating easier or conserves your bandwidth, I know it's all about being creative, but it might be a bit hard for you to slice'n'code a circular template or something... If not, I'll just put the creative pixies through the meat grinder and sprinkle the magic dust into photoshop and come up with something...

Initially, you only need to create a mockup. We ask only for this so that at most that's how much work you've done should you not win. Of course, there are limits to what can be dynamically reproduced in HTML/CSS/JavaScript, so giant circles and such might be, well, difficult. We are also looking for talent, so if we think that you could potentially modify your design to make it work we might award you the prize. As for the image sizes, that can be managed after the fact. For now, just show us some pretty colors :)

I like it, but the blue background to the boxes realy needs to come down a couple of notches in terms of brigntness, matching the color of the backing strip of the text in the banner would be just right. Aside from that I like.

Really great and contrasting design, as you said alot different to the existing templates, which is a really good thing. Not much I can critacize about this one.

I like this one too. The font definatly needs changing though, its not bad, but its a little plain and doesn't quite fit in my mind. Maybe try swaping the positions of 'last 5 kills' and 'activity' around? There is also a 'd' missing from 'Killboard' in the main logo 
I like em all so far, can't wait for the final versions tbh. My greifwatch needs a new look
