Maybe you misunderstood, so let me explain it: You could fly a Carrier before, and you will be able to fly it after. You could not fly a FAX before (simply because it didn't exist) so you will not be able to fly it after, unless you buy the book. |

I don't think they literally said anywhere that you will need to train a new skill for a new ship. They should not need to say that, to be honest.
Edit: although, in the latest o7 show I think someone said they were excited for the race for the new FAX skills, so theres that. Believe me, you won't just get FAX V in the same way you didn't get Command Destroyer V or Tactical Destroyer V when they were introduced. |

Other ships have been nerfed before, even to the point where they became completely obsolete for many players. CCP never gave out the skills for whichever ships replaced them. Get over it. |

No, that's just you spinning things your way. You will keep the racial carrier skill, you will still be able to fly carriers, but carriers are getting nerfed. It has happened to about every ship in Eve at this point, and it will happen again. If you have not gotten used to that, it's about time.

But it is. The Drake used to have the role of a mainline doctrine DPS ship. Nowadays it barely has any role at all. Did the drake pilots get any compensation? No, they hardened the **** up and trained something else. |

No, they hardened the **** up and trained something else. You've got to be joking. That's called a nerf, that isn't completely removing a ship defining role that only that line of ship can fill....
The result is the same. You can still put Remote Reps on your carrier, as far as I understand it. They will just be ****, quite like the Drake. |
