Edited by: LeiLani Caliente on 31/01/2007 18:18:59 I have all race frig/cruiser/bs 5 and all laser/hybrid/projectile s/m/l to 5 plus almost all large spec skills to 4.
For skirmish warefare, unpredictably > all.
There is nothing like the feeling of attacking having someone expect you to be in a particular race's ship or have a particular type of gun on a ship, and then hit him with a totally different damage type than he was hardened for. |

I have somehow ended up able to fly Minmatar covert ops, Caldari battleships and (most recently) Amarr cruisers for various reasons. I have more SP in drones than any other sort of weapons, but I don't fly any Gallente ships. I didn't realise quite how odd this seems until I actually wrote it down...

Born in the might Amarr Empire, I was raised all OVER the universe.
Personally I pilot Caldari most of the time, but I can fly ALL races up to Tier 2 Battleships and Elite Frigs, having the skill set to totally WTFPZOWN anyone in them is a different story, luckily I can do so in at least 2 and a 1/2 of the races.
I like the variety it gives me, as well as the flexibility during combat. =========================

I'm a laser/drone junkie (can't stand having to carry ammo) and I can fly any T1 ship of all races except Minmatar (of which I can fly no ships at all). ---

If you live in 0.0 is is pretty important to be able to fly all race's frigs. Soon you notice that it doesn't take much to get another race's frig up to 4 and are able to get the cruiser. Then you get the cruiser up a bit and notice the battle cruiser skill is race agnostic. Then you start wondering what is so great about those Arbalist missile launchers that drop from the rats in your area. Next thing you know there is a Raven parked next to your Domi.

I fly caldari and gallente ships, I have caldari frig, cruiser and bs at 5, and gallente frig and cruiser at 5, (bs 5 is on the to do list to eventually dual spec in capital ships, moros & phoenix ftw). I can honestly say there are some situations where caldari ships are in favor and some where gallente are in favor, and others where other races are excelent.
The nice thing however, is gallente is a hybrid race, and caldari is a mix of missiles and hybrids which works perfectly, for those pilots that wish to dual spec, cause you really only need about 5m in gunnery and 3m in missiles to get a decent punch.
That being said, I'd try out some gallente ships and see if you like them, I do!

Edited by: SebbyTheFreak on 02/02/2007 05:04:32 I can fly every racial t1 and t2 frigates and destroyers with t2 weaponry EXCEPT for the t2 cruise missiles on the stealth bomber, I only got lvl4 in cruises.
(I even maxed many of the t2 skills, like AF, Inty and Covop are all to 5, interdictor is to 4)
I completly maxed small autocannons, lvl4 or 3 in most other specialisation.
I'll probably do the same with cruisers (HAC and Recons and logistics)
However... I can tell you, it's pointless. (Now I don't say if It was an alt or something, but it's not, I only have one character) I do it because i'm kind of mentally challenged... I'm like a women, I never know what I want to wear.
That, and still have dreams of being a combat guru kind of chracter
BUT, It can be enjoyable to be able to say "I fee like flying this ship, for the heck of it" and actally being able to do it... at full efficiency.

I'm training up support skills at the moment then my multi racial extravaganza begins as I train for all non caldari t2 pvp ships aside from dictors (looking at the skill plan makes me want some +30 implants considering how much the game will change by the time I'm done )

Dont waste your time on cruiser 5 unless you're very SP heavy.
HACs still cost a rediculous ammount, the training time for cruiser 5 will get you t2 medium guns... and the new BC's are pretty shiny... alternatively just get a domi as it has been confirmed that it is the ****.

37-odd mil SPs and I can fly everything but Gal above frig (but not cap ships), including all T2 frigs for the three races, all T2 Amarr (not transports) plus Amarr BS V, the others at IV, and all T2 guns except med and large hybrids (for now). Plus all the useful support skills maxed out.
Diversifying is great. It gives you lots of options to change things up so nothing becomes boring. Different races have different styles, and it's interesting to try something different now and then.
