I am a psychology student (4th year) writing a paper on human nature and I need your help. IÆve taken the stance that all persons, no matter how little, have some good in them.
(Flame suit on)
As a proof, I would like to ask that everyone reading this post send me 10,000 ISK. I know itÆs a lot to ask and It may seem that IÆm just begging, but I need some data to prove my point. I plan on taking screen shots of my transaction log as well as a copy of this thread. (itÆs either this or standing on the corner with a sign)
If you feel 10,000 is too much, then anything will do. I just need to prove my point so I can finish this paper and get back to playing EVE.

I'm no psychology student, but if he IS telling the truth, he is trying to prove that as a general rule, people are willing to help a stranger provided that ther personal sacrifice is negligible.
However, IMO, this particular experiment is flawed, as ISK is a quantifiable sacrifice. When people give you ISK, they know they are sacrificing that much ISK. A better experiment would be to ask random strangers what the time is. 99% of the people involved will not think that the request involves personal sacrifice, and them giving you the time would prove that they are willing to help others.

However on the other hand I am a psychology student who likes to prove that were "good deeds exist" people are willing to preform 'worse' or 'bad' deeds in replacement of it.
So If I you all send me 100,000 isk I will collate it all and then hire mercs to pod the OPer.

Anyway, I'm not going to send you any isk because I suspect you're just a figment of my imagination. Analyse that.

15,000 * 10,000 = 150,000,000 isk
Get a job.
Oh, and for your information, asking people to donate money or ISK for no cause at all in order to judge if all people have some 'good' in them is trivial. Writing a paper on how you got 15,000 people to give you online money and how that proves that everyone is inherently "Good" would get you an F at my old college. Good luck.

Thiss is very true  But it would seem that posting any kind of thread, involving psychological feedback as a necessity, online is a bad idea that is easily contaminated

this just identifies good people, not that everyone is good. You would have to get everyone in the game, or certainly everyone who read this post to send you isk in order to prove your point. And since i ain't sending you squat, looks like you lose.
