Thank you... I am amazed that people keep insisting that actively hacking a REAL server is the same as placing a character "spy" in a pretend corporation in a GAME to get password access to their pretend information.
Let me give you all a hint. When someone goes to a judge and complains that their pretend corporation got infiltrated in a game, and their pretend ship got blown up as a result they will get laughed at and thrown out of the room... When someone goes to a judge in a case where someone actively hacked a RL server (was not given the information) with peoples RL information on it (e.g. e-mail addresses not 'eve-mail' addresses, and probably a lot more RL personal info) they can be charged with a crime. Note that the supposed 'evidence' in this case specifically referred to a person's real e-mail address.
As someone pointed out it is unlikley to get prosecuted if you can't show monetary damages. That does not mean it isn't criminal, and you never know, they may want to make an example, particularly if the person already has a record of such activity.
Weren't you the same fool talking mess about me using an Enron example the other day and telling us all that we needed some "perspective?" Obviously since it's "just a game" and "people's livelihoods and money" aren't on the line so you shouldn't be worried about what this guy does or doesn't do to get his information.
Honestly, who gives a frak about how he got the info? There's no way in hell anyone could make all that stuff up and make it sound EXACTLY like those BOB cheaters. He found the dirt that all of us knew was there and now the proverbial **** has hit the fan. If he hacked it to get it, big deal. This isn't a trial where certain evidence isn't admissible if obtained through nefarious means. In fact, we're all at the mercy of CCP to do the right thing about this whole thing and considering how they've let BOBbits and others slide in the past, the odds of them doing anything are slim to none.
Thanks for finally giving me my damn picture! |
