I wish I was awake enough to write up a proper battle report. Hopefully some pictures and a few words will do.
H-W9TY tonight was the site of an epic battle between MC and MM. We had reports of a big camp complete with a large bubble. There were ninety enemy targets in local. Sounded like a nice test for the motherships!
We jumped in our small support gang, set off a cyno and jumped in. We jumped in with two Motherships (Nyx & Aeon) and four carriers. We had roughly eighteen support, most of which ended up getting splattered in the opening 3-4 minutes. The battle report on our killboard indicates 74 enemy ships doing damage against 24 of us. Local spiked at near 140 by the time I cyno'd out.
Some pics from tonight (Note the number of enemy BS at long range):
Aeon & Nyx
Initial Jump In
Our support is slaughtered and things start to get... interesting!
Half the North starts to show up and one of our carriers is in trouble. MM has a carrier in our range now too.
Our carrier and the MM carrier die within a minute of each other.
My damage log shows that I first took damage at 22:13:25 and I warped out at 22:41:14.
For something that lasted so long, the end result was not a lot of overall kills on either side. We lost two carriers and MM lost one. We lost 90% of our support, destroyed five BS and roughly 20 support. The numbers don't really say a thing though about the actual fight. For nearly thirty minutes, there were battleships and support warping all over the place. Drones filled the air, capital ships exploding!
After our remaining two carriers jumped out, I was the last person to into warp. I lost track of the number of enemy fighters and drones my smartbombs killed. I was shot at, NosÆd, bumped and generally treated like the uninvited guest I was. Some crazy bastard in his Vagabond damn near kept me from getting into warp by bumping me as every ship present rained hell down on me. The image of countless missiles and drones chasing after my Nyx is still burned into my mind asàfinally... I got into warp. My heart damn near exploded. It was awesome!
In retrospect, we made a couple mistakes that will not be repeated again. We didnÆt expect to ôwinö but we did get more than we expected. All in all, it was well worth the effort. Best damn fight IÆve been in for ages.
Our congratulations to Morsus Mihi for scoring the first two MC capital ships killed. Good fight, guys. This fight in the North so far has been the best contract for MC since Force of Evil. Those who remember that will understand what it means.
Side note - Before anyone asks about the MC Killboard, it's been hosted on the BDCI domain for the past couple months. Within 48 hours of starting this contract, the service shut down our domain due to excessive "http processes". Seems like everyone and their mother was hitting F5 on it constantly. Basically, we may need to find a dedicated server to put the KB on and that's being sorted now. At this time, the KB is not public so we can at least record our kills and losses. We'll have it back up ASAP.

"****, guys, wtf, im getting bumped. It' say im in warp. WTF. ****, i can't tank this, ****, WTF...
LOL!! Yeah, I did get a bit nervous near the end when I was the ONLY ship left and half the North seemed to be shooting me. In retrospect, my tank was holding just fine and it would have taken quite a bit to chew through it all. Motherships are monsters. Now I know why the Establishment Nyx hasn't been killed yet. I wonder if they've ever jumped thier ship into something like this?
I will say this - officer smartbombs 4TW. Saved my ass for sure. Nothing says, "GET OFF ME!!" like almost a thousand points of damage every 5-10 seconds. -

I honestly don't give a damn what my pilots fit. Having said that...
Quote: We just had a nice little engagement in Taisy, but again the same thing, we popped an ishtar which had stabs, and i should mention MC had a mothership, they were all combat fited and waiting for us. Also a scorpion warped off in structure with stabs, and then also a myrmidon.
Yes, every ship you faced was wearing stabs, including the mothership.
Dude, I've lost track of the number of times that I KNEW I had a point of scramble on the guy and he warps away and the answer is not always that he had stabs. I find it highly doubtful, due to the penalties, that you're running into as man 'MC-stabbed' ships as you think. We have a similar thread on our forums ATM about how damn near every other ship we've run into lately seems to be going 10,000 m/second.
In answer to your original question though, we don't have a policy on it so I don't condone or really care what our pilots fit.
GF and I'm sure we'll dance again soon.
EDIT - It's called EVE Mail. Why come into this thread with this crap?

Originally by: Gypsy Djinn From a layman's point of view it looks like to me that RAWR should really be thanking the MC Mothership for helping take out the 1st MC Carrier, if that mothership changes his 3rd ranked damage from the friendly Carrier to the next say 4 or 5 enemy battleships (assuming the other RAWR carrier was at a POS or something) the fight probably turns out completely different...
Looks to me like Mihi better be getting more prepared for the next engagement, as I doubt MC will continue to make silly mistakes like that... I would hope not anyway, stuff like that could really tarnish a professional PvP reputation
It took a while to sort out what happened. From looking at damage logs, it appears that one of the smartbombs on the Aeon smacked some the fighters from that MC carrier as the fighters were zooming by on the way to another target. This caused those fighters to get ****ed of at the Aeon. Then the Aeon's fighters were like, "Hey! Leave momma alone!" and went after the MC carrier.
You gotta freakin love the AI in those things, eh?

Originally by: Kovid How was the lag?
Very manageable considering over 100 people on the grid with drones and fighters all over the place. My frame rates were in the 15-20 FPS range for a good portion of the fight. It was bad at first, but things smoothed out over time. Interesting that as MORE people got involved, the frame rates went up for me. -

Bastard MS's need to be nerfed though. With them right fitted they are such a ***** to hold in place.
LOL! Mate, when I watch your 'phoon laugh at a Gotan's web and scramble then zoom away from my fighter swarm... and you wanna talk about holding me down?
Seriously though, Moms are supposed to be beasts. For the effort it takes to build them, I think they deserve a bit of 'uberness'. Respect to you guys yesterday in E-OGL4 for trying. That was a damn nice fight as well. -

You've got a what scrambled? Cyno!!
Okay, local is filling up. Please explode...
Time to fit the Salvager! (yes, I trained it finally... )
We seriously debated hanging around for a bit but I just couldn't do another night up until 0400 again. Looking forward to the weekend, guys. No doubt we'll have many chances to dance. -

The killboard looks awesome and I'm glad to hear it was enjoyable for most involved.
I'll do something up tommorow. I'm asking for screenshots from the guys to go with mine.
The lag was pretty bad. It's probably why we lost our carrier as one of the Aeon's had two remote capital reps that never activated. Then again, there was so much DPS flying around...
I'll save the rest for tommorow. Here's the aftermath tho:
OMG BRING HAULERS!

E-OGL4 Battle Summary
As near as I've been able to put together this is what happened. MM and friends had a gang of at least 90, at least 35-40 of which were Battleships. We had a medium sized gang in Empire that consisted mainly of HACs and a few BS. The MM gang surged into Taisy and we hauled ass back to base to get into heavier ships. After a few jumps in, the MM gang turned around and headed back out to 0.0.
We'd been in contact with BoB and learned that DICE had a gang with twenty fleet-fitted BS in it that were coming up behind. We'd switched out to BS as much as we could and were fielding about 25 now. We figured that between BoB and MC, we now had roughly equal BS numbers but MMs support was still more. Talk of sandwiching them began.
The BoB fleet was formed up on the E-O gate in 15W waiting for MM to jump in. Our covert ops reported that the enemy fleet had warped to a POS and we were wondering if we were going to get a fight. Then, as our fleet jumped into M-O, the entire enemy force landed on the M-O gate in E-O. Our FC decided to force the issue and jumped the MC fleet into the fire.
Sixty seconds into the fight, MC dropped a cyno field and we jumped in a Nyx, two Aeons and four carriers. The cyno ship got vaporized so all of the cap ships popped out at random points in the system and had to warp back into the gate.
The MC and MM BS fleets were just shredding each other. A BS popped on either side about once every 20-30 seconds from what I could see. Our support seemed to be doing well though, as everything that got near our BS popped pretty fast. The problem was that MM had more BS to lose and we were getting mauled. After another minute, BoB warped in and started to hit MM from another direction. But it wasn't over yet.
A cyno field popped twenty km away from my Nyx and several flashes of light announced the arrival of ten enemy capital ships. There appeared to be an even split of five dreads and five carriers. Not good. We kept our remaining BS on the task of assisting BoB with thinning out the still large MM fleet and I had our carriers focus on the enemy dreads.
The slugfest went on and somewhere in the middle of all of this an IRON gang of support showed up as well. I didn't realize it at the time. All I knew was that after half an hour of shooting there were still too damn many enemy ships out there.
Realizing that shooting at Alynthir's Aeon was useless, the enemy cap ships finally turned their attention to Stradivarious' Nidhoggur. The ship died with nearly 60% cap, almost ready to jump out. The lag kept one of our motherships from getting a pair of Capital Remote reps on him, or else he might have lived.
Finally, the enemy fleet's numbers began to thin out and we focused on killing off as many enemy capital ships as we could. We finished the fight with 1 enemy Thanatos and 3 enemy Moros down.
According to damage logs, the battle lasted one hour and six minutes.
