In the spirit of "CCP : Do that thing" threads...
Can the flipping camera be zoomed out completely (or halfway... or have a set default zoom setting) after jumping/undocking/etc?
(or am I missing something? )

So after you jump to another system, your camera isn't automaticaly zoomed in to the max?

Originally by: Michus Danether It's been said already... but hold down the left and right mouse buttons and move the mouse backwards and forwards. Fast-Forward zooming ability! I never use the mousewheel to zoom out.
But I don't want to do that!
It's these little, annoying things that realy frustrate ppl you know... especialy if they're always there and not just some occasional bug.

While we're on the subject, a good idea would be to have the option to right-click on the reset camera button and have the option to "set current as default camera distance".

Originally by: Iyanah why though? when there's a perfectly good mouse wheel right there
on a more serious note, it does this for me too, but i just don't mind it to be honest, i move the camera angle and zoom that much anyway, that it makes little difference.
It's during the jump-in's that it gets realy annoying... especialy if you're moving around a lot looking for targets.

Thanks a lot guys.
We aim to please! (but we didn't say you're a nerd... or did you mean us...?? errr )
Aaaah..... how many simple, yet irritating things Eve has... but we still love it... it's like my ex-girlfriend

Edited by: ElCoCo on 04/04/2007 17:42:28 Hey, my thread lives.
One thing is for sure. When I give someone "the finger", it will be a very menacing gesture... with all this... exercise, my middle finger will slowly muscle up to a gargantuan size
edit: just noticed it got on the known issues page... we're on the right track

To repost it. It's been a few weeks since this annoying "feature" was added to the known issues page, so no dev reply would be necessary.
However, from all the annoying things... this is just...
To stress this enough... if the camera behaved like that when I started the game, I'd be too frustrated to play long enough to get hooked.

Originally by: Pociomundo I use widescreen mode because the black boarders are neat but also the defeault camera position after jumping is further behind the ship and generally in a nice position.
Eh?

Originally by: Pociomundo It's pretty simple, you complain that auto zoom into the max is too close when you jump through a gate, in widescreen mode the auto position is far away and a fair way out behind the ship.
I understood that... on my LCD tv (don't have a wide monitor) the difference is insignificant to my eyes.

Edited by: ElCoCo on 04/08/2007 23:43:36 Yay \o/ This seems fixed in sisi, at least partly. Camera doesn't reset after session changes like jumping and docking (but getting podded still resets it to max zoom) It even remembers where you had it after switching ships and even after logging off
