After a recent Dev post, I didn't know CCP had an office in Altanta, GA. I am wondering if CCP would have a FanFest for the USA players in GA. I am curious about the hardware of the servers used in any computer company since that is part of my job here at home and my hobby, like everyone else that plays this game. I have been hooked on this game for over 3 years now. Atleast you guys can do is have a FanFest, USA style. Being from Alabama, GA is just a hop, skip and a jump. Where Iceland is just to hard to leave for, as much as I am curious to explore another country.

Being in Durham, North Carolina, I'll second this.
If not a dedicated Eve event, how about some CCP presence at a regional convention.

since they have an office in GA. It just makes it easier to just stop by for a day or 2. A regional FanFest would be cool. I am sure it wouldn't be a big as the one in iceland I am sure.

Fanfest in Iceland was fantastic But the price of beer and food YIKES
I think as a UK player the price for going to America and drinking for 3 days would work out the same or cheaper (probably alot cheaper for me )
Player events happen in US with devs attending I believe, not sure CCP would be up to move an iceland success story to another venue but somewhere warm with cheaper alcohol and I'm up for it - still saving to go to iceland anyway didnt get to see anything but the bar last year. BIG LOTTERY BIG DEAL BIG RECRUITMENT

WoW I am shocked I got the attention of a official of the CCP team. If you can pass it off to someone in the upper management about a small gathering at GA for this event that would be interesting. I am sure you can have a large turnout being in the Southeast of the US. Do you think its something worth exploring?

ive planned many events in the atlanta area... for other con type things ... its is fairly easy to do in atlanta ... it wouldnt be worth it if it was just a few people ... i wonder how many people would be interested in going. and how much they would be willing to pay for say a 3 day ticket to the event.

For the people that have real jobs, getting a week off for a trip to Iceland, is a bit hard to take. Many of the fans are in the 20s and 30s and going to Iceland is just a dream. Having a regional in USA would bring several people. Having it in Las Vegas is a nightmare because of the traffic and the expenses and such.

But having it in Vegas makes more people want to come.

Agreed, and Vegas is NOT expensive from a visitors standpoint as long as you do just a tad bit of homework on the hotels. I have no idea what the venueÆs cost though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please check my in game BIO for current in game BPO auctions. |

One thing about having it in Atlanta is that it will cost CCP very little since they have an office there, where having it in L.V. would cost them a ton because they would have to rent a large room and getting CCP's management into Hotel rooms and moving all the computers and art, etc. Where if its in Altanta would cost very little to them just maybe a day or 2 off from work to ask and answer questions from the players and Fans.

What about somewhere more central?
Like Washington D.C.
(I'm totally not just suggesting this because it's close to where I live.)

Living in NC and being a poor college student, the idea of a fanfest in Atlanta sounds good, and if they wanted to do something easy they could just do something at Dragon Con as it is in Atlanta.

LOL.. Come on guys, keep in mind there are western players as well. Somewhere in the middle Us would make more since to me. I went to the Vegas trip and it was hella fun, Id go to another US event as well. Like most Iceland is way to far off, I live in Idaho...at least atlanta is closer and you have an airport, 2 hours to the nearest one here. Las Vegas seems a good place, things to do and see and it is cheap, I got a hotel for 4 nights at $45 a night so, and I drove 12 hours to get there :)
But yes another US event would be great, there are US players as well and it would be nice to see CCP do something grande like Vegas again over here. I play too, AND HAVE BEEN PLAYING FOR A LOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG TIME. CHEERS

atlanta is a nice central place ... it has many bars, hotels, bars, clubs, shopping, bars, and a nice convention center near a international airport. its the home of hp, im sure they would love to showcase there come of there computers playing eve. there is alot of other tech industry out there that may be helpful.

Chicago imo..
Its central to the US so makes it easier for everone to get there.. has one of the biggest international airports and plenty of convention space.
and the #1 reason.. its not Georgia :P
