It would be nice to have an anchorable item that may be aggressed in highsec/lowsec without incuring a suspect or criminal timer. Call it a training beacon. I would use it for training new players in PvP, specifically targeting, managing range, orbiting, and activating modules in the process. It would be nice if it would have cruiser level HP, but have a ton of structure HPs that it regens to full every second, so it can't reasonably be killed.
Maybe require anchoring I, and it cannot be put within 1000K of gates/stations/POS/etc, so it ends up not being a decloak thing.
Just thinking out loud, here. |

Undock a brick tanked battleship and have them shoot you in it. There are a few ways to have them shoot you without Concord showing up.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.
I couldn't have said it better.
Hello, Mr Carebear. Would you like some cheese with that whine?

If you're training new players, couldn't you just take them to lowsec? Or duel them? Or turn off the stupid restriction on in corp aggro? |

Yo, there is this cool thing called the Test Server; also known as SISI. I hear it is a great place to test things. |

Lowsec has risks for new players they may not be ready for.
Turning off safety controls has other risks involved.
FF is an awoxers best friend.
Duels don't work in groups.
Test server is an option I hadn't considered. |

Do we really think it's helpful to infantilize new players like this? They're not children, they're grown-ass adults (or near enough) playing a video game. How ready does one need to be to lose a T1 frigate with a replacement cost coming to a whole 6 or 7 figures, at the outside?
Explain the risks to them. Make sure they don't bring anything they can't afford to lose, and that, as soon as they click undock, they should consider their ship to be dead already. If it makes it back alive, it's a gift. Then, go pewpew some ****.

Pathetic - perhaps your vocation is more geared towards crying about SP injectors?

...but even there they keep complaining about it
Oh and just spoken from a decade of experience, do not have them warp to ca1 in 6c-z49 at zero - unless they misbehave and you want to teach them a lesson they will never forget.
Eve Minions is recruiting. Learn from about pvp, learn about ships and how to fly them correctly. Small gang and solo action in high, low and nullsec and w-space alike.
We will teach you everything you need and want to know.

It has been my experience that newbies right out of tutorial land lack the skills to do much in null sec.
Then again, I would imagine goons are constantly at war, so that would make hisec more dangerous. |
