AGEIS, i always thought a missle shield would be badass. :D
But for misles, it would launch all the missles in the launcher before a reload, instead of one at a time.
Having all of the missles fire at once would have some effect on the motion of your ship im sure.

I think it should be an complete overhaul to all guns. Auto's should be firing continuously. A Missile launcher that shows 3 or 6 missiles should launch 3-6 missiles at once, etc... I would also like to see "Flak" guns added to battle ships to deal with the smaller ships.
Hell, I would just like to see more metal in space at one time to give the impression that even a small engagement there is A LOT ammo expended. Increase rate of fire lower DPS. Add flak explosions that damage anything near them IE frigs, figters, drones and interceptors. Make closing in with a battleship a REALLY painfull thing.

Should be closely tied to 'heat', allowing your guns wait the requisite period to 'cool down' (reducing chance of damage) or continue to fire (high chance of damage).
Should be combined with the general concept in fps shooters that come with firing an automatic weapon, it reduces your chance to hit. Idea being; a continually firing weapon must constantly deal with recoil, while slow continuous shots are more acurate but have consistent dps. So a frig spraying bullets at a cruiser would be fine, but a cruiser would need more accurate shots to have a chance of hitting a frig (as it is now).

When I first signed up to this game and was reading some of the info on the weapons, I was really hoping/expecting to see something like the Mechwarrior games - a launcher with 6 missiles in it, shot 6 missiles at once and reloaded. Autocannons would fire in crazy bursts with short delays but were very prone to overheating, etc...
I hope that perhaps someday they do overhaul the weapons completely - maybe after the new gfx engine and they are able to fix a lot of the other bugs we currently have - but making the weapons more like how they were in the Mechwarrior games can't be a bad thing... they were very realistic (yea yeah, big mechs shooting freakin lasers, I know - not "realistic" :P).
