Edited by: Lord Evangelian on 05/02/2007 03:08:40 I am by no means a pirate, but an easy target with more money than sense will make anyone question there own motives, especially when your wallet is growing dry and you have bills to pay. My night was touched by 3 targets, all under 2 months old, both not experienced enough to know that the size of yoru ship does not matter if you cant fly it properly.
Victim Number 1 û Incursus I approached the dead space training beacon, and found to my luck 3 shiny new frigates with 'shiny new' pilots in them ratting away. I had found recently that if you collect all the loot in the wrecks left at these places you can make a hefty sum of money. So I started to take items from the wrecks. Before I knew it I was being attacked. It was only 19 being taken off per hit, but when your health starts to dip you get worried and want to know who is attacking you. One of the Frigs felt brave and wanted to taste his first ship destruction. I started to fire back, in seconds he was down to armour and into structure. He warped away (With no Scrammer I had no chance to confirm the kill), knowing how they think i followed him to the station and introduced him to the fate he had been running from all those seconds before. Afterwards I docked and gave him his loot back (After keeping the good bits) and 500k ISK to get a better ship and fittings and to cover any inconvenience.
Cost: 500K ISK Reward: 2.0M ISK in loot
Victim Number 2 û Cormorant As before I was looting from the cans and one of the ratting noobs suddenly felt brave. I was Scrammed and webbed. This guy packed a punch and got me straight down to armour. With a T2 Small Rep you can't often get past it with out some sort of help. Slowly but surely I got his shields down, and got him down to structure before he warped out.
I took 1 guess and it landed me on top of him, as with all noobs he tried to get into the station on agro. With a pew pew here and there he was dead. As before I took his loot and docked to give it back to him. This guy had a salvager 1, plus 10 different kinds of salvaged modules. I kept them and gave him back the crap I didnÆt want. Along with 1M ISK to cover his destroyer.
Cost: 1.0M ISK Reward: 3M ISK in loot
Victim Number 3 û Hyperion Yeah thatÆs right I killed my first BS solo today. I canÆt help but think he deserved it if you can fit a ship that badly.
[BORING PART]I was in the system warping from belt to belt looting, when I notice a Hyperion in full battle mode (Drones out sensor booster going and *tries not to laugh* Shield boosters & hardeners flickering away...) I passively target him and scan to see what his using. And that was when I was shocked to see that any one could fit a ship so badly. I saw Rails and Blasters (Medium BTW), Shield Boaster, 2 Shield Hardeners and a Shield recharger, 2 smart bombs, plus 2 speed rigs and a shield rig. ThatÆs when I decided to look to see how old he was, and he was sonly 2 months old. 2 months old, still with FNA but able to buy rigs hype and other expensive crap, but still fit a ship that badly, he can only be 1 thing. AN EBAY BABY!!! By this point I was thinking YES God does love me. I called my gang mate into the system to just confirm what I was seeing. And we hatched a plan
[Plan]The plan was to get us both to agro him, then when he retaliates to our frigs, we jump out in our big bad Myrmidon (T3BC) and Megathron (T2BS) and uber scare ransom him so he wets him self and gives some of his eBay isk to us so we donÆt destroy his uber expensive pile of badly fitted crap[/Plan]
I took the can at which point he locked me and started attacking. (Bare in mind IÆm still in my Incursus) I warp to the station and change ships. I warp back to where he was he warped to the station and docked. I waited at the station for him to undock, and he undocked and warped straight to the stargate. [/BORING] |

I warped to the gate after him, and landed on top of him, webbing scramming nosing jamming why hammering my Heavy Drones on him with torps and Blasters....sure enough he was into armour rather quick, but then something very strange happened and I am still in shock. Not only did he try to shield tank a Gallente BS, he had a smart bomb and decided to use it at the busy stargate. He was BBQ and served up on a plate of WOOP ASS courtesy of concord. From that I got 21M ISK from the modules that werenÆt destroyed. If people start saying prove it, I cant there is no kill mail, but id gladly show them the 25 Mill ISK in the form of my new shiny named mods for my Incursus.
Cost: 0 ISK Reward: 21M ISK in loot

At the end of my 6th week, I had 300 million ISK in my name and that's only because I didn't play only to get the ISK, but effectively tried out the game. And I'm certainly not an Ebay baby.
It's not such a big exploit to have that kind of money. I made all of mine through NPC. Stories. |

Thank you, It was also becuase they didnt deserve to be destroyed, I was defending myself and they didng know when to quit...so i had to inorder to save my own skin.
Also you would know how to fit a BS after earning that money. I know when I first got my BS I had read up in the forum about it and what to do and what not to do. Although I didnt always do it correctly, its only really NOOBS that will fit that much shield boosting technology on a gallente ship, especially an armour tanking BS such as the hype. Even the mere fact he was in a hype says he wanted to be looked at with aww, utherwise why go to a noob system and sit in a deadspace area with your drones out...
plus to that fact, he should be able to look and see that Im alot older than him (eve time), even though im in a frig and that I might have a bigger ship close by...:) it was his loss and stupidity to engage me...
Im glad he didnt smack or flame me utehrwise i would make it my mission to make him learn the hard way.

It's not unusual... when I'm in low sec and baby pirates or newbies with blood lust try and get me I often buy them a new ship to replace what I blew up and give them most of their mods back then tell them what they did wrong, give em a few tips. It's an enjoyable experience teaching newbies, it's how they learn and grow. Though I have seen some whose idea of eve education starts and stops with their target getting wtfpwned and not knowing why or how they died and why they are in a station being recloned.

Not that your reply makes much sense but i don't think you understood his point.
You stole from him and he attacked you. the only person that could have fired on him in that situation was you not ur corp amtes, not ur gang mates, just you. so your backup was kinda pointless.
also the guy probably hit the SB on purpose tbh. lots of ppl do that to stop u getting the killmail. kinda sad if u ask me but meh.
also 21mil in loot spent on named mods for an incursus?

Nah my gang mate stole from his can as well and he fired on both of us. The thing that made us both go after him was my mate decided to be in a Velator ;), and the guy in the hype almost destroyed him.
I wasnt posting about the horrible hype fitting. I know my fitting is not perfect...but can I say....
WHO WON
I was posting to say (if you look at my title you woudl see) I made 21M Isk and lost 1.5M Isk. The best part was teh money I lost was money I lost volenterorly...

I point it out because your first post, and in general your subsequent posts as well, are acting all high and mighty, preaching such gospel as "not experienced enough to know that the size of yoru ship does not matter if you cant fly it properly."
So what, you won? Big deal, you killed a shiled tanked Hyperion that set off a smartbomb at a gate. hey, I killed a NPC earlier, I pwn. Maybe I'll make a thread about my NPC pwning and preach about ship setups.
And finally, I won't go into how unimpressive 19.5m profit in this case is, because clearly you're too new and sucky to realize that's not a lot of money, even if you lost 1.5 of it "volenterorly." (hehe)
