Almost anywhere i go in .5 empire systems there are loads of lagtastic cans placed all around the asteroid belts and ice fields. In my entire time of playing this game i have never seen the owner of the can anywhere near it. I don't know how much lag they cause, but i think they need to go the way of the insta-jump bookmark
I think that secure cans should have a time limit as to how long they last after your last access. And cans that are left unused for an extended period of time should pop. FIX OUR DESTROYERS! |

been suggested should vanish if account holder goes inactive as it stands tho u need to guess the password to get at it. Petition CCP with a stuck petition saying youre stuck due to lag ( has happened to me sometimes in empier)
CCP want solutions to problems in threads as well appaerntly
remove all jetcans that have been placed where the accout hodler is inactive or make their contents available for anyone to loot and recover the can ( 6 month inactivity rules)

The time period needs to be much shorter, then active accounts can spam the cans in system and never have to touch them after they are initially launched. Maybe a period of a week or two, so if someone wants to spam cans everywhere then they must have upkeep on the cans to make sure they dont pop. FIX OUR DESTROYERS! |

limit the amount of containers you can anchor by tying it to the Anchoring skill.
Give at the same time an overview of all the belt cans you have in space, somewhere in your assets window or something like that. Maybe even add the possibility to remotely 'unanchor' and let it float till it disappears? If not, move there, unachnor, scoop or let it float.
Then you can anchor a new container in the system you like.

Well, you can always have the additional skills. Advaned anchoring maybe? I dunno. But dont forget the point. The whole idea is to reduce the ammount of anchored containers in space. It does after all create lag and trash in space.

I agree to both:
1) Time limit on secure cans; Use it or loose it. 2) Limit ammount of anchored cans, tied to skills.
And I add:
3) Bigger secure cans so people don't have to use as many. |

I think CCP should allow all anchored cans to be hacked by those that have the skill, allowing them to open the can and scoop the loot. After the can has been hacked it should automatically disassociate from its owner and become salvageable.

When not touched for 4 weeks, the can-security system got outdated and they become hackable (with hacking lvl V). Pls no popping of secure cans after 6 months, change their color over time or so, after 4-5 months they get rusty and just need hacking lvl I.
and my personal favorite, and completely crazy: After a year, they become historic artifacts and just serve as a collector's item

I have plenty of skills to be training as it is thanks. And lag? Even with wrecks, mission runners, fleet battles, etc etc, a few secure cans are going cause significant lag?
Edit to clarify: The generality of your idea does not account for the fact that my secure cans are all at safespots. All things going well neither you nor anyone else besides myself will ever be on the same grid as them. An idea that tackles can-ridden belts specifically, OTOH, is a different story. ----------

True, but it would make it easier for people to understand why you want to create additional lag to the belts we all are using.

I don't care about belts, at least not ones in highsec. I care about an idea that restricts the number of cans I can use. ----------
