Is it right For CCP to Ban who they chose? With no Evidence?
ENORMOUS BLOCK OF TEXT OMG!!!!!!
Sarge out.
Smaller block of text
I didn't actually read it, though from one or two of the standout words in there ("FAT HAPPY AND RICH?", "CCP. GM Nova", "BILLIONS", "NEVER" and the repeated use of the words "ban" or "banned") I suspect there is tinfoilhattery afoot.
So... can I have your stuff when you quit? ***

Look, I really don't want to be cruel here, but you'd get your point across a lot better if you took more than five seconds to write your post, bothered to spell check it first, and used something even remotely resembling punctuation and paragraphs.
At the moment, what we're seeing appears to be the insane ramblings of a paranoid monkey that's desperately trying to convey the thoughts buzzing around it's simian little brain by poking at the keyboard with the wrong end of a hammer.
Slow down, take some time in composing your posts, and present your case clearly. Please. ***

What's being said here is that a few people got banned because someone they were associated with got caught selling game content or something of the like. The GMs / Authorities then banned the culprit but did not stop there, they also banned people that the culprit played the game with penalizing them for association.
And it did not stop there.
Apparently, the individuals banned for association were unbanned with a negative wallet count (thats isk in the debt condition for your trollers), and then rebanned later after they had tried to reclaim the debt by doing honest work for it.
Now the argument our author is making is that we should be careful who we associate ourselves with and possibly turn this into a single player game because CCP could actually ban you for whatever reason they feel like; so best not to make friends with anyone because they might be targetted.
and at the risk of embracing some penalty myself...
These bannings took place the night prior to Goonswarm / others attacking detroid, and the individuals whose bans are in question were fueling PoS's.
ps. he gave me his stuff already.
I think none of us have a problem with the message being conveyed, but honestly, is there any harm in presenting it clearly?
I know a player who got a warning for using a macro while mining. He was present at his keyboard the whole time, and got a warning and temporary ban over it. I myself received a warning from the GMs a while back over an (admittedly idiotic) piece of smack that got taken wildly out of context.
People make mistakes. You learn ten times as much from getting it wrong as you do from getting it right.
All I'm asking for is a thread that reads as if the author has taken a little effort over it. At the moment it reads like Grade A+ verbal Diarrhea and the (perfectly valid) query is lost in a sea of illegible drivel.
I'm all for an intelligent debate. but why should I be forced to decrypt the endless stream of bad spelling interspersed with the occasional random "lol" in order to have that debate? I have better things to do with my time than translate walls of text. ***

Originally by: Malthros Zenobia In short: Yes, their game, their rules, which you agree to. They can ban anyone at any time.
Well, to be fair the question's not whether they're allowed to, it's whether they should. Or, more precisely, whether more subtlety should be exercised and each individual case should be given more care and attention.
I think EVE players are comfortable with the ways the GMs operate for the most part. After all, if we weren't, there'd be more threads like this one on these here boards (except most of them would be spell checked and punctuated). ***

Originally by: Erdain Yes, it's fair for them to ban someone. They reserve the right. Also, if you feel like you have been banned unfairly, take it up with them; they're pretty good about their customer service.
Frankly, I'm glad they ban. I don't want to play an unmoderated game.

EDIT: sorry, it's mandatory.
On a more serious note, I really don't see where you're coming from with that statement. I'm yet to see CCP actually mistreat any customer too severely. What specific example would you like to cite before leaving? After all, I'm pretty certain there's a "customer feedback" thing somewhere...

Originally by: Dominator9987 I think this post was called for, if this kinda thing is going on we should be informed of it. Shutting it down (no matter how it was conveyed) is censureship.
Maybe... like I said before, it's not the point that's causing problems, it's the presentation and flagrant abuse being thrown around in this thread.
Threads like these get locked not because the mods are a bunch of egomaniacs, but because of the way some people treat each other.
This COULD be a perfectly civil thread. it isn't. at this point, we can only hope it gets a *snip* so we can actually get back to discussing the issue sensibly... I for one wouldn't mind seeing some of my previous posts go the way of the dodo if it mean we wound up with a rational discussion at the end of it all..
oh, and my question still hasn't been answered. Can I have your stuff, Mirus? put it on contract maybe? or just reprocess it, sell the ore, and wire me the ISK, I don't mind. ***

Originally by: Seana Elria You, being a member of said alliance, act as a respresentative of LV by virtue of being one of them. As such any action you take reflects on the alliance as a whole to an uninformed outside party with nothing else to compare to. So if you go out and make yourself look like an ass, well its going to affect people's perceptions of your alliance whether you intend to/care about or not. I was simply commenting to that effect, which it appears you missed entirely.
well, to be fair, he's only been with them for 15 days... and I do tend to ask that the actions of one person not be taken as reflecting on the whole. I'm pretty sure it's only a matter of time before someone from LV comes in here and condemn his behaviour after all.
Let's not get carried away. Requesting that LV not be tarnished by his actions is the one point he's raised that I actually agree with.
