What would be the best use of my time training?
Given that I use the freighter more at present and what possible future tech levels may bring to the table. The current bonus' doesn't seem to merit training any of them to five.

Simple... Do you regularly fill your Freighter? Would an extra 5% do you any good? If not, then do something else. The 5% speed increase is negligible with WTZ. Now if it were a 5% agility increase on the other hand...

The Capital Ships skill is not required for freighters, so it wont modify your stats anyway? -

Bingo. Freighters are not capital ships, and hence that skill will not improve your freighter. ---

Ive trained Freighter and ASC both 2 5. Obviously ASC is good for warp times but I never used the extra cargo of freighter 5.. until last week. A regular mineral buy order I do (every 2 days) uses 3 freighter trips that would take 4 at lvl 4. Even more importantly, A 52j round trip haul im now doing every 12 days takes up 920k m3 of cargo, so having the lvl 5 skill saves me doing a second 52j round trip in a hauler.

Holy crap... Ionia, what're you hauling? Wouldn't some mineral compression be in order?

Which is why I never said anything about training Capital Ships to lvl5 for using a Freighter, I did however state I use the freighter more currently.
The issue at hand is me being on vacation for some 30 days and will need a skill to cover that ground, which of the two would be least waste of my time given their future prospects?
Will Freighter 5 actually do much for me, what could it possibly be required for in the future, Capital Ships lvl5 how useful is the agility and will it eventually be a prerequsite and a must have?

If you ever want to fly a Titan, then Capital Ships lvl 5 is a pre-requisite :) _____________________________________________

Can freighter 5 fit another general freight container in there? If so, that's a perk to the freighter skill. I can't see much need for 5% speed in a capital ship tbh and I'm not planning on a titan anytime... ever.

There are several other skills that would take 30+ days to take to level 5.
Basically any rank 8+ skill should do.
Or, perhaps it's even better to lose a few days of training and train something that will actually be of use to you.
