Holly mother of unpronounceable Icelandic gods, this is what the game is supposed to look like!
Launcher updated fine and the switchover to Wine worked fine for me. Will bug report tonight from in-game any problems I get.
THANK YOU cold northern people. |

Ok. Been running it the last two nights and this is great! 2011 Macbook Pro running 10.10.5 Game is much, much snappier, things like markets and hangers load a bit quicker, I'm getting a higher frame rate. All the new effects are there! Can resize the window anyway I like.
The only issues I've run into is cut and paste from outside to inside the client does not work for me. I also get the "There was an error writing a file to disk (see log for details)." when I log out one character and try to switch characters, but by closing the dialog it out and trying it again it always works.
This is great CCP! Thanks guys for working on this. |

Invisusira wrote:Still doesn't work. Same issue, launcher never starts a client and the 'play' triangle comes back. tried both the 1.8.1 and the dev 1.9.5 builds. I also get this error: Quote:There was an error writing a file to disk (see log for details).
If there are EVE clients running they might prevent updating files.
This could be also be caused by incorrect file permissions. Do you want me to try to fix permissions for the shared cache folder? (/Users/david/Library/Application Support/EVE Online/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/SharedCache/) when I click "play" only on the first attempt after starting the launcher. Couple pastebins of my launcher's log: http://pastebin.com/KHizikAj http://pastebin.com/MVE311ad http://pastebin.com/aJk6v5gm
Clicking "retry" when this happens works for me. |

Invisusira wrote:Current status:
Wine runs, and thanks to being able to resize window via dragging bottom right corner, is usable. (In-game resolution selection continues to be v buggy.)
Performance/looks are moderately better than Cider, but not by much. (This is more a compliment of the current Cider build than a dis on the Wine build.)
In-game sound does not play through USB headset, which means I can't use it for any sort of fleet ops.
Yea, you gotta plug in the USB headset before you load the launcher. It works fine after that, but like the Cider of a year ago hot swapping USB headsets doesn't work (yet?). |

CCP Snorlax wrote:Amarisen Gream wrote:CCP Snorlax, been having issues that last few days where jumping gates once again is locking up the screen so I can rotate my view tell I change camera type.
Started up after I logged into my alt to do some MCT, had issues on her and now on the main again. This might now be your department but thought you should know.
Happens in Orbit camera mode - have to switch to tactical (might take two to three changes) Please file a bug report with logs: Go to settings in the launcher, enable 'Run clients with logging'. This will then start up LogLite when you press Play. Once you experience the camera issue, then go to LogLite and save the log. Then go here: https://community.eveonline.com/support/bug-reports/ and fill in the report (mention my name in the title so I can find it quickly), with as much detail as you can and attach the log file you just saved. I'll take a look as soon as I can and see if the logs give me a clue as to what is going wrong, and get the dev who worked on the camera to help if needed.
Haven't filled a bug report yet, but 'm having the same problem occasionally. The 'fix' I found was to select something out of game (in windowed mode) and then click back in game back and forth a few times. Sometimes this works sometimes you have to change camera modes to get it to work. |

CCP Snorlax wrote:Vincent Athena wrote:This most likely has been asked and answered, but...15 pages..... Every time I start up eve I get asked if I want to allow wineserver to connect. How do I stop those requests?
In System Preferences, Security and Privacy, Firewall, I have wineserver listed as "allow incoming connections". What else is needed?
Oh, And CCP Snorlax, are we going to get command-click mapped to secondary click? I tend to fumble finger the double-tap sufficiently often that having command-click mapped to secondary click would be quite helpful. I haven't seen this, and don't recall other reports about this. I need to investigate and ask around inhouse.
For some reason I've ben getting the 'wineserver connect' question on launch a lot this week. |
