Please see the examples below: kieron announces new patch to resolve some issues: Community response: kieron takes heat for not addressing issues not covered in the patch. kieron announces a hot patch to fix issues not addressed in previous patch: Community response: kieron takes heat for 'nerfing stuff' released in previous patch. kieron announces an investigation into dev misconduct: Community response: kieron takes heat for the investigation taking too long. kieron announces some initial finding of the investigation and reinterates CCP's stance on cheating: Community response: kieron is too vague etc.. etc.. Can the mighty kieron never win? kieron, from a very addicted EvE player I thank you for what you are doing on the forums by keeping people informed and maintaining a 'pipe line' contact between the player base and CCP. I happen to agree that the whole Inquiry Findings post was lacking--as did my rough estimation of 80%+ of the people that posted in that thread (yes, I read all 24 pages of it). While the whole gaming populace doesn't post on the forums, mature industries have formulas that 1 complaint call represents x number of customers.

Posted - 2007.02.09 00:18:00 - [52] While I'm sure that Kieron absolutely busts his ass for Eve, the situation we find ourselves in is nothing like anything that has occurred in Eve to-date. A great many people are upset, including me. When there is a possibility of collusion between the developers and ANY player faction, it lessens achievements that the rest of the playerbase reaches. Those of us that have spent over three years of our lives building this online existence deserve to feel like CCP mapped out this entire incident down to the smallest iota of information, dealt with it accordingly, and took steps to ensure nothing like this could ever happen again. Some "You're doing a great job" posts with happy postings aren't going to solve this. What is going to solve this in my eyes is information. A veritable avalanche of what is and has been done over the last several days, and what is going to happen in the future. I understand that CCP feels it is necessary to allow their developers to maintain characters on Tranquility, but they also have to know that episodes such as this can happen, due to the fickle nature of human self control. If you tell someone a secret, and they promise they aren't going to say anyting, they will likely spill the beans to someone. It's usually an attempt at self-importance, if nothing else. Then that person tells someone else they trust, and so the neverending cycle of your secret not being a secret anymore rolls along. Next, I believe that the developers should take a short, hard look at the Tech II BPO lottery system, it's heinously overdue. So much wealth in this game is tied into those BPO's, that there needs to be some sort of rhyme or reason to them... They need to have a coherent plan for their distribution. Any spawning of BPO's not by the Eve system (i.e. a Manual spawning) should immediately be flagged and reviewed. Anyways, I like Kieron. He's always been a straight forward guy, and has done quite a bit for the community. I have a feeling that the headshed at CCP asked him to try and put a lid on this, which is why the first post in the announcements forum. This isn't going to go away until you deal with it. In parting, I wanted to give you a gift, which is something I learned in the Marines, and I think it applies in this case. "Violence of Action:" The total, overwhelming application of force to a target in an exessive manner, designed to drive the enemy into panic, inactivity and surrender due to its absolute dominance of the specific task. CCP needs to apply violence of action to this investigation. Make us all say "Whoah" and feel like this has been absolutely, positively resolved. I don't expect anybody at CCP should lose their jobs, but I do expect they and the playerbase should have no worries whatsoever upon completion of their investigation that anything of this nature could happen again. That's all I wanted to say.
