Edited by: Julia Fey on 08/02/2007 21:03:32 How can I share a bookmark with someone? I tried dragging it into chat and it doesn't work. It just turns into a tack thingy. I even tried trading it at a station as someone suggested.
Also what is that tack thing that you pull off when you attempt and drag a bookmark? I saw one inside someone's can and it said "can holder" please explain. --- |

Shift-drag the BM from your people and places to your cargohold. Trade the resultant "tacky" BM to your friend, either thru a trade window or cargo container. Your friend drags the BM from his cargohold into his people and places. That has worked for me.

Open your People & Places, go to the places tab. Hold Shift and drag the bookmark into either your hangar or cargohold to copy it there (if you don't hold shift it will be removed from your bookmarks). Now you can either jettison it in space or trade if in a station, like any other item. To move it into their bookmarks they drag it on to the actual Places tab - just dragging into the window usually doesn't work for me. Also if you're in space the bookmark has to be in your cargo, it can't still be in a can.
The tack thing is just the icon for the bookmark... some people when mining just create a bookmark and move into the can so that their hauler can remove all of the ore without popping the can, hence "can holder".

Yes, shift-drag it into your cargohold or your station hanger. This makes a copy of the bookmark as a physical item. (You can just drag it over, but then it disappears from your bookmark list.)
Once it's a physical item, you can trade it as any other item. Direct trade, contract, jetcan into space, drop it into a corp hanger, etc.
