1. D2 moved huge fleet direction fountain, over 15 carriers confirmed.
2. RAZOR and MM have an unconfirmed target in south.
3. "Seleenee did an official logoffski" according to MM forces. According to my MM source trap was set for MC leader in H-W in Tribute as her safespot was busted. Seleenee warped in panic to MSHD gate in H-W and fleet followed. Before taking any damage Seleenee logged of (or crashed, ctrl-q-ed) and dissapeared at the same spot 200km from MSHD gate. To remind EVE public if ship logs off without taking damage then it will dissapear after one minute (not warp, just dissapear). That exactly happened, Seleenee dissapeared. Other ms pilot, Alynthir, managed to warp and cloak. 2 minutes later Alynthir posted following message in local: "Seleenee apologises for having problems with his PC, that would have been a good battle, maybe some other time, he will not be back today".
Strangely enough Selenee and Alynthir logged back in, few hours later, after MM forces were busy in Taisy area and jumped straight to empire low space.
My MM source said: "All that respect on forums, and bull**** and now this! In my eyes this is first EVE ms kill and it belongs to MM! MC deserves absolutely no respect whatsoever! And now when BOB is busy petting LV MC is doomed against us alone."
BOB will be under pressure. Is the time ripe for their fall?
Also is the story about Seleenee true? My source claims it is, how about someone else from MM posting here? Or MC leadership? Explain what happened, EVE public will be gratefull. I have seen a copy of chatlog in H-W local confirming what I wrote, angry raections by MM pilots and message from Alynthir about the PC crash. Logs can be faked, and this is why we need an official statement from involved parties. We deliver the news, you live with them |

it's highly likely that Seleene ctd'd and decided to not log back in because the situation was hopeless
btw there's some ppl that said d2 moved in 25 freightors into Fountain....hmm

I heard him saying that he's warping to the gate on TS, and after that he crashed from TS, EVE and MSN at the same time.
He had no reason to pull a logoffski, and if MM think there was one.. well no comment on that.

Thank you for that, I know Sel would rather see that ship go down killing than to pull some cheap logoffski some people in this game still have honour.
Oh and you news is pretty poor I think most people could have told you about the D2 thing.

I wasn't there, but I really don't believe in anyone saying he logged off on purpose as Selenee never struck me as that kind of person.
CTD's can happen to anyone in combat-mode once in a while, so unless it's something done regularly I don't see why anyone are shouting "logoffski". ---

Here is the deal:
I've had my computer crashing on me at random for a couple weeks now. It's happened a couple times before in smaller engagements and I was able to reboot and log back in quickly. This happened last week when I jumped into a Razor gang and crashed instantly. It turns out that my new 7950GT card is the source of this problem. I've put my old 7900GT back in and things SEEM to be going okay now.
As for what happened earlier tonight, I had Sel logged in inside H-W. There were about 85 hostiles in local. Alynthir logged on as well. We were preparing to cyno out of the system when he says that there was an Arazu and another ship at his safe. No problem, he starts to warp to the MSH gate because our covert pilot (Mynas 4TW!) is sitting 5km away from a Rokh that needs to die. I figure, what the hell, de-cloak and start to warp in as well. Maybe we'll get a fight!
Just as my ship enters warp, my computer locks up AGAIN and I spent 10 mins trying to reboot to a stable desktop. Giving up, I run downstairs, grab my laptop and hop on TS. I'm told that it would probably not be best to log back in at that moment considering there are about 100 people sitting at the spot I vanished from.
The situation wasn't 'hopeless', but there was no way I was going to try to fight something like that on my laptop. So I spent the next hour pulling / switching RAM chips and rebooting over and over to try to get a stable desktop. Finally, I pulled my new graphics card and put in an old one. Magically, everything worked again. So there's $300 I'll be RMA'ing back from newegg.com.
So, I logged back in, got ganged and cyno'd out like we'd planned to do anyway. I was greeted by this when I came out of warp from logging back in:
Lookie! They dropped cans so I can't cloak or warp!
Interestingly enough, from the angle I warped in from, I could have easily turned to warp out. Regardless, had the battle actually taken place it would have been a good one. I'm sure it was a well planned trap, but I didn't even know there was a trap (if that's what it was) until I came on TS ten minutes after I'd crashed.
Now, I love the witch hunt mentality that seems to have infested the forums lately, but we've put our Motherships in more jeopardy in the last two weeks than was faced this evening. We've had 80+ ships shooting at us before, jumped into large bubble camps, had dreads cyno'd in on us and generally had a ******* blast with the whole, "Let's see what these things can do!" mentality.
I seriously doubt anyone who has seen me fly that Nyx up close believes for one second that I'd log it off from a fight. If you do, good for you.

Edited by: Husari Painen on 09/02/2007 23:56:41 Thank you Seleenee for your side of the story. I do have few questions though.
1. How do you feel that you have avoided certain death by just few seconds? If you would have been agroed by anything you would have taken 15 minutes to dissapear. Yet you CTD few seconds before 100 ships warps on your spot. 2. According to MM sources Alynthir, second ms pilot, was already agroed so CTD-ing was not an option for him. Did you know that you are not agroed when you CTD-ed? 3. If you were agroed would you have logged back in the game? 4. Would you call it luck? Touch of fate? 5. Are you gratefull to your graphics card for being alive? Allow me to tell you that MM forces had 20+ capital ships about to cyno on your at 0 km when you left the game.
Thank you in advance.

Please shut it, there has been enough **** throwing today on the forum and a lot of people are a little riled up. In my time in EVE sel and MC in its various forms have war decced corporations I've been in and since the days when Sel just ****ed around in a crow ganking haulers hes always been a top bloke. Fact is despite the basic level of immunity motherships enjoy, Sel puts his nyx in the thick of it and while sometimes its a totally one sided gank in his favour he still flies into situations which involve more fun than smart thinking. Everyone has had the annoying disconnects and crashes that really screw you up, and logging into a gang camping you is never a smart idea. Are MM members annoyed that we didn't get the chance to pew pew the nyx? Yes. Could we have taken it? Possibly. However I doubt any one in MM wants a ****ty MS kill like how BoB got the first Titan kill. If we kill Sel I'm sure he will go down in a blaze of glory and providing a challenging fight.
Please don't try to represent MM without the tag under your name, if you are in MM and are hiding behind an alt, please feel free to message me ingame and I'd be happy to debate the whole thing with you. If you don't please shut up.

I have questions too!
Two motherships warped to within a few kilometres of a stationary long range battleship. Does that sound like a typical panicked escape?
If being agro'd was T+TALHELLDEATH why was the first mothership able to warp out of your trap AFTER your hundred ships had warped to him, and after the second mothership had come in on a deadstick (it was blue to us and its pilot had dropped off TS)?
Was the first mothership's escape luck, or are you implying that the Aeon pilot used his certain-dev-haxxor skills too?
Did the first mothership leave the battle before or after the cyno was launched?
Did the first mothership leave half a billion isk in fighters at the scene, or a bunch of T1 drones?
Did MM/-RZR-/SRBI anchor 18 secure cans at the second mothership's despawn point?

Check your power supply. Vid cards are power hogs and sometimes moving up a model might come with additional power reqs that aren't reflected on the min system reqs on the box. I had this happen recently with my #2 computer and the ATI9800 on it. The power supply could be either inadequate or perhaps failing.
Lastly, the screenie of the cans....just for my edification, is that sort of thing within game mechanics\rules, etc? I honestly don't know...purely curious.

In local it sounded like they would have engaged if it wasnt for the crash, if they had stayed we would have had time to bump them from alignment since the aeon warped just after we got there. But enough with the theorys, lets try it again same time, same place tomorrow?

It's been said before, but I honestly don't think that's the case. Going back through 'facts' in his posts there are certain things that don't quite add up -- if he is a RZR alt he's singularly badly informed. Even low-level grunts like me know more.
And, as Shiraz points out, the writing style isn't familiar at all.
(for the record, there is great respect in RZR for MC and I don't think anyone here doubts that Seleene's crash was exactly that, and unavoidable crash.) |

Then I realised that it's blindingly obvious to everyone what the post largely comprises - I'm surprised Seleene / MM / anyone actually bothered to dignify this bilge with a serious response...
Then it hit me - I've seen this journalistic style before - It's The Sunday Sport reincarnate!! So come on, Husari - where are the t*ts and page upon page of crappy ringtone adverts?!!!!

No one in MC would ever log off to save oneself and leave a alliance mate in distress. This is actually one of the main reasons for MCs success throughout their 2 year history.

Although if you look at his posting history, here and on eve-search, he does quote MM stuff a lot. MM alliance (concord) mails quoted, MM killboard referenced, unnamed MM members quoted, activity around H-W and up to H-PA (never Tenal). I reckon he's someone in MM with ties to rzr, gone slightly rogue and enjoying being a mole.

Since my questions remain unanswered I will ask another in hope this does get an answer. See quote above. Is that an accusation? Are you saying that MM forces are misusing game mechanics to prevent you from warping out?

yeh check your power supply. Also if you have a creative X-Fi you may want to be aware that they have serious issues with PCI bus overloading and can bluescreen or crash your system with high-end video cards.
At least a 650-700watter should solve your issue though. If that isn't it then try checking your temps on your video card and CPU under stress (laser thermometers are great for this). Perhaps it is time to invest in a better cooling solution.

After thinking I was stable with my old card last night, my computer took a dump on me again early in the morning leaving me stranded about 25 jumps deep in IRON / FLA space. I've traced the problem to any number of things: CPU, bad memory stick, PSU and even a possible software conflict with Norton.
I've spent most of today setting up a new computer (CPU, MB & RAM) and re-installing everything from scratch. I'm going to top this off with my first fresh install of EVE in over a year. Hopefully all of this will be enough and I'll be stable and online later tonight or tommorow.
My main frustration ATM is this damn new install teletubbie land background. Does anyone have a 3840 x 1200 res pic (2x Dell 24' monitors) that I can replace it with?

Before this one gets blown out of proportion, I would like to say that Alynthir/Seleene uses 2 different computers for the different accounts, thus one could very well be giving him headaches out the ying yang. I have known 3 of the BDCI people since inception of their corp, and before that in another MMO game, which was where we originally met. Having known him in an on-line capacity for the past 5 or 6 years, I can honestly attest that he would never log off to save his ship. He would fight to the bitter end ESPECIALLY if some of his corp mates are in trouble and need help and all. This whole thing about him logging off in ridiculous. Even though we are now at war, I still uphold that he is one of the most honorable pilots in the game.
See you out there eventually mate.

I can deny this as i've heard both of them talking on teamspeak at the same time and unless sel has some magical voice transformer then no they are not the same person.

So you kind of glanced over at the computer case and figured that it's probably one of the things in there causing the problem? I'm sure if you post in the OPE forum or something about it, noting your experiences and when it crashes if there are specific patterns, someone will offer some advice.

It's amazing how you reach your conclusions, mr Painen. It's been known for a while and as far as I know, "admitted", that MC and Outbreak fly together on different occasions.
Your so-called news were a fun reading in the beginning, but now I think you're becoming more of an annoyance to both sides rather than a helpful journalist. ---

Have a cookie!
Oh joy \o/. Stuff happens, they'll calm down. Maybe the card itself has a fault. Might get newegg to swap it with you first and try another one.

Also, this has kind of entered the realm of "Out of Pod Experience" hasn't it?
If I were you, I'd admit to myself that I don't have a clue about computers after all and call tech-support
QFT using Norton programms they used to be good UNDER DOS, everything they have ever done for win is just bull (and overpriced too)

so a whole thread on someone loosing connection now?
v nice, dont let anyone tell you otherwise, this needed to be put in the public eye *cough* oh man, i'm too sick to be any more sarcastic... maybe i'll post more later.
i have to reboot atleast a couple times a night when i'm running eve. just got issues with the client, no other games behave that way. i guess i could troll known issues and probs section but we all know what good that would do.
its not a news event everytime some leader leaves game asshat, and w/ MC's track record i think you could probably give them the benefit of the doubt.

That means...

I'm not saying it. Maybe some Outbreak member can say it for me, they comment my news all the time. It seems to me that you have saved your ms but you definately lost something else Alynthir... Seleene... whatever.
It is sad that a journalist needs to go digging this deep to get somewhere where many have been before but kept it quiet for some unknown reason. Logged off, so what?!? Thousands are doing it every day in this game, it's certified game mechanics, created by CCP. It's not a crime, it's not an exploit. So whats the big fuss?!?
All that never logged off in combat raise your hand... Not you girl, put it down. Yeah, you have been busted, go fix your pc or something... thank you.
Spread the word people: Seleene did go down in H-W on that night... way down... lowest possible.

will be interesting to see if there will be another well timed "disconnect" again wich would most likely confirm a ctrl+q escape.
personally i think those things are beasts and can take a hell of a lot more punishment and still come out on top so i doubt that anyone would actually do a ctrl+q with it.
but then again you never know until it happens again.
