1. 5000 gated stars + 2500 wormhole stars do not a galaxy make. Look at Elite:Dangerous if you want to see a galaxy.
2. Where are the aliens on Earth? Well maybe there are, but officially it's just humans, and you can have Sci-Fi without aliens.
3. What would be the point of aliens? You want one race to be humans, and the others to be furry or something? What would be the point? The ships are the same, the only difference would be uglier portraits. We don't have avatars, and the attributes just govern skill training times.
4. You're shooting ships. Yes there are people inside (NPCs) and there are escape pods, but they die. You're fake-killing humans, deal with it, no need to justify your inner murderer as "shooting aliens" or "shooting zombies" or "demons" or whatever. |

It would be neat though. Even the Jove recogized the possibility of alien life in the chronicle "Inheritance." For now though, the closest thing we have to an alien race IMO is the Jove or the Talocayn, and they are still very much human. |

A long time ago, when EVE was invented, CCP stated that there will be no aliens in eve. EVE is a game, about humans, being human. We are nasty to each other. all the races in eve are a sect of humans. There will not or do not need to be aliens in eve. Get over it.
Of course this being ccp that could change, but why? We do enough killing each other that aliens are unnecessary and kinda stupid.
We are the invaders of new eden. The only thing that could be feasible is the return of 'pure' terrains.
The closest you will get to non human beings (aliens) in eve are the Jove, and they too are human. The Tolcans are human, and other ancheint race as well. all human

I don't think they are sentient by majority. Notice how the rare spawns in drone sites are called sentient drones, i think implying the rest aren't. They are also the ones that actually speak.

There ARE alien life-forms in New Eden: alien animals, parasites, plants, bacterias. Most of 'em can be found on planets, but some you may see on market. Fedo can be found even in your hangars and containers, if you have some trash or lost and forgotten janitors there.
There are still no intelligent life-forms found in cluster, exept humans and AI-s made by 'em. To find some would be interesting anyway: killing each other only makes people bored. |

For a sci fi game it is strange that there is no intelligent, truly alien life in eve. The closes thing we have is rogue drones but even they aren't particularly interesting.
It would be cool if ccp put strange new alien life in this 'new space' that they keep threatening to introduce but i doubt they will.

All I see is references from the talebook from ancient palestine.
There are alien artifacts and clues pointing to them, but it's not a whole universe or even a whole galaxy; it's only 7000 star systems, but so far the closest thing we have to actual aliens is...
Jovians - Another race of humans with lots of augmentation and genetic changes. They are hard to find.
Sleepers - Complete A.I. that live mostly in Wormhole space. Very dangerous.
Drifters - Most dangerous and odd of all. They are similar to Star Trek's BORG. Drifters dismantle Jovian outpost, control Sleepers, and harvest corpses from players, then they combine all that technology into one. VERY dangerous.

Nat Silverguard wrote:CCP are devout Catholics... there are only humans. Actually the RCC has made it clear they'd love to meet aliens and have a writ saying they would have souls in need of salvation.
Further, this isn't a recent thing, the RCC has been pondering this alongside the other old denominations for centuries as to the concept of aliens and original sin with a fallen creation. It's terribly fascinating and an illuminating thing to read up on when bored. It's more of a US thing under the Evangelist movement with various part of Baptists and other more numbered but enough to be too many to name that are the idea of science or religion. This is not so much a knock at the followers, as their supposed doctrinal issues, but even then they lack a head figure to speak for the groups, making it all fairly local. In a differential sense, life as a combination of molecular structures is a naturally self arising phenomena from the universe itself. Ergo, for us to be the only "sapient" life would place the soul as the center of such. However, as there is quite the number of tool using and sentient life that is demonstrably better off than some of the lower rungs of humanity, it would be not be presumptuous to suppose the existence of life elsewhere. More unto the point, New Eden is relatively too small to see the rise of other sapient life. Sentient yes, but then again sentient life is rather easy, within 2 decades to be a university project, 4 to be a home item. |

See the SoE Arc. Quite plausibly, rogue drones would make effective Berserkers, wiping out any orbital infrastructure that we/they could determine. Thus, we would not see a plausible alien species. Downside, we would still note the regular radio pulses from a planet, particularly as most of New Eden is within 4 light years of somewhere else and thus the signal to noise ratio has not achieved the same ratio as cosmic background radiation.
Further downside, such a distance also means your neighborhood aliens could be right next door and not realized for a long time. Functionally, we would need to send explorer ships with uncapped warp drives to nearby constellations and have them listen to do such an investigation.
Further downside, drones would already be doing this to seek more material for themselves. Ultimate downside, when they have done so, they would plausibly expand exponentially and rapidly outmass us from even one virgin system of relatively equal size to our own current Sol. |
