There's a max amount of damage a DD can do, and you just need the correct resistances and enough armor/structure. Now, sniper BS's don't tend to have any sort of tank on them at all. They don't survive.

Also if you were in a cruiser that would not survive against a bs that you had scrambled and some mates in the system would you ask for help on some gate/belt/planet and ask only 1 friendly to come to be fair and not blob the person. Ofcourse you'll come with all available to minimize the friendly loss...

If what you have is an OMGWTFPWNAGEBBQBLOBTASTICPEWPEW huge gang, then you either blob, or assign each wing to go off and do its own thing if you are sufficiently confident in their ability to work independently. If you have a small group of elites, you go raiding, and let another FC take charge of everyone else. Blobs are a fact of life now. And to be fair, when they clash it's epic as all hell, and it's genuinely fun to be a part of those kinds of massive fleet engagements (Unless you are eaten by a Lag Grue). Basically, the size of the gang is more often determined by how many people throw in their X than any other factor. For us, at least. ***
