Edited by: Borysa on 11/02/2007 13:41:47 Edited by: Borysa on 11/02/2007 13:41:28 A minor point to me but a major one for 10% of the male population.
I showed eve to a mate of mine the other day and he was mystified by part of my explanation of the UI ... how I could tell the difference between the blinking of a weapon that was firing (green) and one I'd clicked on to stop it firing (red).
Then when I mentioned the colours he explained he was red/green colour blind...oh how we laughed
Still it does mean that anyone with colour blindness is going to be severely hampered playing the game with the ui the way it is.

Good suggestion, never thought of that cause i dont have these problems. Enabling some more colours, blue and yellow for example would solve that problem.

Colour is generally a bad idea - making a weapon button background black/transparent then filling it from bottom to top with some opaque colour (e.g. the usual silver) as it recharges is much better.
Afterall 0.00001% people can't see any colours at all!
Personally if colours were to be used I'd prefer solid/constant colour rather than the current 'shimmering' which sometimes makes thing unclear even to the colour enabled player, especially in the heat of battle.

Especially when you have a bright background behind the UI it is very difficult to see wether a module is turned on or off. And I can see all colors ;)

There are a lot of things in EvE that withold critical information from people who can't tell the difference between red and green. Skill requirements, fleet bonuses, module activations, online status of address book entries...
The default overview setting uses the exact same icon for "In your corp" and "At war with you", except that one is red and one is green. You can change the overview settings, which is nice, but you can't do anything about the other issues. There was a big thread about this a few months ago. I'm sure it's still around. It even had some CCP replies in it, which is bizarre for this sub-forum.
