That was hands down the best top gear episode ever.
The alabama slogan bit *****ed me up for ages
I can't believe that lawyer was going to sue them for mis-labeling their cars that they gave to Katrina victims. How lame is that. ------------ Combat miner |

In the US, charitable donations can be deducted from the ammount of taxes you pay. Over valuing donations is considered tax fraud, and if a charitable organization is found to be involved with, or willfully ignorant of fraud they can lose their charitable status and/or face heavy fines. Thus, it's something many charities take very seriously. ---------

Still, $20,000 dollars??? American lawyers tend to be the greediest people in the nation, no matter how rich they are. Just look at the lot we call the RIAA. They've done some funny ass stuff. YOU CAN'T RUN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE (INSERT YOUR IP HERE). It's where all the lawyers with the worst social standings and ethics go and exhort money from the everyday consumers. Many others who advocate for major corporations are the same to a lesser extent. There are good lawyers too though, definitely, they just don't make quite as much money as those hired by let's say, Exxon-Mobil.
This is easily the greatest Top Gear ever. And I being an American am saying this. It portrays the South and it's ideals which have run the nation for the past six years in a fairly accurate manner, that Christianity is intolerant towards other human beings and that violence solves problems.

Gave me a good chuckle,
Mostly because my first car costed me 100 euro's. 23Yo Ford escort 1.3 Ghia. Lasted me 2 years, no costs, went all around Scotland with it.
I got my latest one (Opel Vectra 1.6i, 15Yo) for free... It's all about knowing ppl, not about cash...

this was comedy gold. the sad/funny thing is that most of US is like that (i've driven through it a few times). But then again I am biased, as i am not a true native (moved to us from former ussr).

Most of the US is like that? LOL...
You've driven through the entire US a few times? Wow...
So there is no part of your old country, lets say Siberia, that have some "backwards" people?
I'm not a fan of rednecks, but plz, don't tell me most of my country is like that, as it's not...
The show was very funny, but I hope you all understand it targeted a very specific group of ignorant/intolerant people... If they would have targeted, lets says a black community (portrayed as nothing but gangsta rappers), this thread would have been locked due to racism... Funny how that works huh?
The COW part was the best... There is no way he had "some guy" help him get that on the car, that COW weighed in excess of 800 lbs... He had it lowered on the car with a crane of some type...

pretty funny..but i hope most of you from other countries realize they were out to get the reactions they did...not everyone in the US is like that, and if they'd have had nothing painted on their cars no one would bother them...keeping an open mind ftw in this case
that'd be like me going outside a soccer (football) match in the UK..say outside manchester united wearing the oppisite teams colors, and holding a sign saying how bad manc. u sucked...i'd probably get beat up to
but i did lol at the episode __________________________

as a reformed gearhead whos probably forgotten more about cars than the cast of top gear will ever lean, let me say THIS SHOW SUCKS!!! they couldnt drive a nail through balsa wood, they figure a car cant corner unless its ass end is sliding around with smoke pouring off the tires. i wouldnt turn these morons loose with a lada niva, let alone some of the stuff they get to test.
thank god they are on a test track 90% of the time, and the 10% of the time when they go for a drive in "america" that i havent seen, i can almost gaurantee is faked, with actors playing the part of hillbillies or something.
you brits are so gullible, and btw im not even american.

That episode was great especially when they went into Alabama. Those hillbillies lived up to the setreotype which resulted in hilarious consequences I mean throwing rocks at someone just because they have 'Man Love Rules OK' painted on the side is just stupid.

Just caught in on repeat, man that was a funny episode!
The bit where they're sitting round waiting for Clarkson to come back so they can grill and eat a squirrel then over the hill he comes... with a cow tied to the roof of his car, that had me *****ed up __________________________________________ "In girum imus nocte, et consumimur igni."

I live in the South near where that was filmed.
I can only say that they deserved every bit that they received. They were lucky to get away before someone came over and gave them a good smackdown.
They deliberately went into an area and intentionally insulted the culture of the people who lived there and then later insulted the people because of the way they responded.
What would have happened if they had put "The Queen Sux!" or "Beckham is ***!" and drove through downtown London? What about putting "Beef tastes good!" and driving through India?

Honestly? I don't think anything would happen, most people tend to have a sense of humour.
Here's the whole scene with the roadkill cow, this had me in stitches, brilliant stuff:
