I'm aware that stereotypes frequently seem like jokes to people, but they became stereotypes for a reason. i could see some humor if this was a benny hill episode. but for these hacks to basically pull a mencia and run some of the most stupid, old, stale stereotypes as if they are REAL LIFE INCIDENTS is not a nyuk nyuk joke, its just sad for media and for the people who "enjoy" it as a whole. yes ive driven tractor trailer all over the southern and easter united states, and what those british hacks had on their cars wouldnt even raise an eyelash compared to some of the "mobile billboards" and such the religious types (mostly) have, but some vehicles are plastered with homemade political signage too. as for the "locals" its pretty easy to round up a group of stand-ins for a quick 50 bucks each. top gear is a hack show they dont know anything about cars. they also show little if any respect for anything but tiresmoke.

Top Gear actually tells you a number of things about cars, what is cool, handling, ride comfort (very important), styling, the 'flappy paddle' gearboxes are 'rubbish', how fast the car goes, what new cars are coming, news about transport in britian. You may have only seen where they go around their test track generally in sports cars and that is the idea to get them to go sideways because they are sports cars. A person like yourself should know this! The luxury cars are generally taken out onto the road and tested in a 'real world' environment.
