Hello there.
My main recently got banned:
It happened that we were camping a gate, a guy came in and we killed his expensive cerb. Then he started in local: you dirty [ insert my corps name ] fashists, i kill you all, your mom's peeep, peeep, peeeeeep.
So i thought i will petition him just because it happens to me all the other time.
So i did, the GM answered me like 3 minutes after this, the normal gag thing came up.
"thx for reporting this, blabla, further consequences, blabla, wishes, blabla"
so i copied this and quoted into our own passworded and private corp chat. In this moment i didnt know it was something wrong im doing.
Well 10minutes later i dropped connection and when i tried to logg back in it told me:
User [insert name] is banned
Number of Visits :
Last Login:
Reason: Posting GM communications.
I never got banned before but when i told my corp m8s they said this is a bit rude to bann someone just because of quoting something a GM said in a Perma-Bann. I mean how do you understand this? It IS a perma isnt it? Well lets go on:
So i tried to log in on eve-online.com with my mains user name and pw. Didnt work. Neither on forums, neither on My Petition, neither nowhere. So i thought im forum banned aswell... because quoting GM things?! to 3 other people?! uhhhm...
Well so i logged in with my alt ( Helferin ) and wrote petition with her, here it is:
Hello mr. GM,
my account [insert username ] recently got banned, now it happens that im looking for some advice what ive done wrong and so on. The problem is i cant write an out of game petiton with him while im actually banned from eve-online i think, i cant login forums, or on my petitons, thats how it comes that i write with this char. I hope you can help me out with this and contact this character.

i think thats pretty polite and to the point, now it just comes that noone answers me, since 3 days im waiting now. And i think that the bann catergory is very important to answer, isnt it? Im finshed with my latin here. So im writing this thread in the hope the community can help me, or that a GM drops along to read this and help me out.

mmmh, so how long will i be banned now?
and i havent copied it. this isnt what i wrote actually this is it in a different form. well i didnt know that, so what shall i do now?

It won't be a permanent ban, that would be going over the top. However you now know that you shouldn't copy or post in any way private communications between you and GMs.

where does it clearly state you are not ment to say what a gm privatly said to you?

But it is mentioned on the forum whenever anyone tries to post it on here
It's more of a hearsay thing than something you really get warned about

Probably killed a GM's main..petition it, not that it will help..
Caldari: Don't have to worry about transversal, falloff/optimal, cap, tracking, how your damage type is being tanked,ship speed, the direction you are moving... etc. Easy Mode w00t!! |

Check the EULA too. GM conversations are private between the client and GM - you cant post them to garner public support, "look at this", etc - it's bad mojo.

I got a pretty swift answer when I was banned for no reason (with 72hours) so hope it is resolved soon.
They should have sent an e-mail to you btw stating why you where banned and for how long. Though possibly that isn't the case as when I was banned I dont think I got one ???! Could be wrong.

That ban is ridiculous. That's like writing 'GM's might ban your account for unimportant stuff, like letting 3 of your friends see a harmless conversation between you and a GM. While at the same time, ignoring dozens of more important petitions for weeks and weeks.'
EXACTLY that. I really really hope it's not a perma-ban, cause that's seriously weird. Unless you're not telling us something that was private in that convo, this is just stupid.
I don't fancy the fact a GM checked your private chats either.

What makes this especially shady is the fact that what post was not really GM communication, it was the standard canned msg you get every time you petition harassment.
It contains no information what so ever about anything, just a "thank you for your petition, we are looking into it" thing.

You were given a 3 day ban, not a permanent ban, and it will be lifted once the days are over from the point where you were banned. Bans of your account in game also bans you from myeve and the forums. Posting communications with the GMs is not allowed, in game or on the forums.
