Isk is easy to make in this game.
Quesitons you need to ask yourself -
1. How much risk do you want to put that 1bil into. 2. What do you like to do in this game. 3. How fast are you trying to make your next bil.
Mainly you need to answer number 2 though. Dont do things in this game that you dislike to make isk. Do things you can enjoy to make isk. There is so many differant things, trading, mining, npc'ing, mission running, building, reseraching, and the list goes on and on. Find one you think you will enjoy and run with it. -----------------------------------------------

Edited by: Guizzy on 12/02/2007 17:39:55 I think the right question is how have you made that money and why can't you just reinvest it into the same activity?
Is it an activity with limited scalability? (like NPC Goods trading or mining) Have you hit its ceiling? (freighter loads and biggest T2 Barge; not certain of the name)
If not, then you have just answered your own question. Push those areas until you hit the ceiling.
Some other activities have a very very high scale ceiling: T2 market is hot in that regard as is stock trading (though that one is more often a sideline; it's pretty slow moving) (edit: but I assure you; the EVE Galactic Stock Exchange is very safe as far as the transactions go!).
If you've just bought 1 billion out of the blue with real money or just happened to stumble by it (say, old player giving his stuff at random), then you might lack the skills (both in-game and real life) to make good use of it. Start at the bottom of the ladder and work up from there, and you'll have a comfortable cushion to fall back on if things go sour.

I would like to second this one, and add: How much is your time worth to you?
You can buy a bunch of ships and mods in Jita and ship them all over the universe for strong profits, but it will take real time to do so.
You can also ship mission runner loot back to Jita for profits. You can reprocess loot and sell the minerals. You can reprocess loot, compress it, and sell the compressed item. You can set up a POS fuel supply route (much more profitable than people tend to think, in some areas up to 100% profit on POS fuel). Every time you need to physically haul something you have to put in a lot of time.
IMHO the key to riches is to set up in a sufficiently large system, get your remote buy and sell order and order manipulation skills trained up, and be in it for the long run with minimal time investment per day.
If you want to be a trader, be a trader, let someone else be the hauler. You may need to sell something at 70% of Jita's price to make it attractive to the hauler, but as long as you paid 40$ of Jita's price that really doesn't matter.

There is the sticky http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=331203 about making money, which is nice. And here are a few of the threads on the same topic, which are not included in that sticky, and they do a pretty good job of fleshing out this issue, I think. I hope you find them helpful:

I could tell you a few ways but it would require a freighter. Freighter alone is 1B :S |

Invention...chose the right modules though or you'll end up losing a lot of ISK The right module can net you 1bil+ profits per day with an investment of around 240mil if you buy the resources at cheapes empire price. _______________

id say a bill is a good start, continue on with ur current ventures and see the current ammount (1bill) now as zero leave it alone u should raise to a couple of bill in no time, but best isk making way has to be the market weather its loot picked up of manufactured selling items and making twice as much whilst offline is all good!

Here's anotherone that involves some research. Learn how much faction items cost and then start to browse contracts. There's A LOT of underpriced faction loot for sale, and if you ship it to a hub, you can make a LOT of profit. Especially if you have 1bil to invest.
You could for example find a Vindicator BPC for 500mil, and resell it somewhere else for 600mil without any problems. Domi webs/disruptors are being sold for 10-30mil less than their "average value" in a lot of regions too. Just do some research, and you should be able to make a ROI of 10-30% per day without any problems. _______________

Remember that locations 1 jump from 0.0 sell items/ships for a fortune. Things as simple as warp scramblers, mwd's, guns, t2 ammo etc etc are all good sellers there. --

The simple answer. if you earned that 1 Billion then you would know what to do to make more money.

The issue isnt that I dont know how to make money I can make plenty belt ratting in 0.0 with rats/faction spawns and also Ratting drones and selling the mins in empire.
What I was asking was for ways to use the money I have earned to make more money I already buy low sell high on mins and was merely looking for alternatives.
Thanks for the troll tho never fails to amaze me how people feel the need to prove there an asshat by posting random pointless comments in other peoples threads good work fella ;-0

The simple answer is that this person didn't read the thread before posting or he would realize he wasn't the first to say it and that it was already explained why it was a silly statement.

Silly statement ? No i dont think so. Poorly phrased question ? possibly I failed to explain exactly what i was asking but thankfully the majority of the people who answered understood and offered very good and thorough answers.
Im just glad that the trolls seem to be outnumbered by people like Dark Shikiri and David H'Levi (o/ david by the way ;p) and all the others who replied to my op.
