I wasnt going to post this but I am tired of reading how people think that once you own a BS all you are supposed to do is PvP. Tell me what the difference betwen a cruiser or even a frig is compared to a BS, They all are combat ships. Who says a cruiser is supposed to be a miner? Now at the moment CCP allows miners on all ships well imo what is the difference putting them on a cruiser or frig than on a BS, A cruiser is not a miner and neither is a BS but its allowed so leave it alone. Im going to continue to put the max amt of miners on what ever ship I own to make as much isk as I want. With this new AB/MWD nerf well who says that a BS is supposed to be slow, I can understand turning radius being big but who says they cant go fast, for christ sake they have the biggest PG why cant they go 10k/ms if thats how the person want to equip their ship to do. I dont normally post a lot but I have been playing the game since retail and the last 2 months just logging in for skill training on 2 accts. If this patch hits TQ the way it is on chaos its not going to be pretty. Well let the flames begin.

because Tomb says so. its healthier for the game. this is how it should have been since the beginning.

Yes it should have been like that from the beginning.. but unfortunately it wasn't and a lot of players who started back then have had 6 months to take full advantage of Battleship mining. Funny how no one moaned about BS miners back then

people didnt have battleships for all 6 months, and empire space mining became a problem in the last 2-3 months (out of 7 btw)...

Well if you fly any of the Caldari BS this shouldn't matter cause the things only have 4 turret slots anyway :/
When mining I'd rather use a cruiser like a thorax or something, more turret space and a decent drone bay.

The reason people mine in empire space is that the 'rare' ores don't sell..
Increase NPC mineral demand and players will stop strip-mining in 1.0.

Rare ores don't sell? Look at the price inflation of Megacyte and Zydrine! People are more than willing to buy the high end stuff, but noone wants to go out to deep space and mine it. Becuase of travel time/organization, mining scordite in empire space works out to be more profitable than mining high end ores. This makes no sense gameplay wise. the low risk option should have low return, and high risk should have high return. Right now it's the opposite. The safest is the most profitable. The devs are going to do something to drop that profitability in empire. HOW is the big question.

Mega/zyd just isn't feasible to mine without mobile refineries. You get more isk/hour mining scord and recycling market goods for your mineral demands.
The recent jump in prices were a consequence of a hike in price for certain items on the market.

The simple fix would have been to increase the profit from mining less common ores, i.e. raising npc demand to let people sell their mex/nocx/iso at decent prices..

And if this would cause people to earn too much, maybe some kind of nerf to refining would have done the trick. That takes care of the 'let's-just-refine-some-market-goods' issue as well..
