Edited by: Samuel Freedom on 12/02/2007 21:38:17 OK I use my scanner(ctrl-f11) and I get a choice of what to scan for, so say I scan for wrecks and a few come up how do I get to them cos right click doesn't give me the option to warp there. ty

Short answer would be you can't, unless you are fairly close to the wreck. Hopefully someone will be along to confirm this and give a more detailed answer shortly.

I think the ships forum has a detailed treatment on scanning.
I think you are looking at your ships built in scanner and that does not give you the ability to warp to things, just shows you what is out there in a vague direction and within your chosen radius.
You need to use scan probes to be able to pinpoint things to warp to them. The bad news is I dont think you can locate wrecks with them at all.
So, wrecks in random space I do not think you can get to. If they're not yours (so that you could keep a bookmark) and they don't happen to be near something like a station, asteroid belt, or gate - you're not going to be able to get there.

Edited by: Kua Burrow on 12/02/2007 22:56:16 But items tend to be at certain places, asteroid belts and the like. Check the scanning guide here: Linkage.
For example I warped into a system today with my scanner on and all these nice ships showed up amongst the usual clutter of Ibises and shuttles. Battleships cruisers, high tier industrials. Using the scanner and the tips from that thread I managed to track them down to a moon, a POS in fact (i.e. I was able to warp to them because I knew they would be next to a 'warpable too' object. Unfortunately some diligent fella had remembered to crank up the forcefield (or whatever that invisible, impenetrable wall is called).
